I had spent most of the night reading through the papers I had received from Armin.

They were surprisingly detailed, so he must have put a lot of effort into writing this.

I finished the last page a little past midnight, and I had spent these past hours carefully analyzing every little sentence, hoping it would somehow unlock a memory, or even better, that I'd remember all of these stories by myself and not just see them as words written on a paper.

Because they were just that to me right now, a lot of made-up events.

None of them had brought a single memory back. Which means all of the effort Armin put in to this, was in vain.

I felt sorry for the blonde, none of this was his fault, yet he took it upon himself to help me.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for him. What could I ever have done to deserve having him here?

---

I put down the last paper sheet on my desk.

Letting out an exhausted sigh I stood up from the chair I was sitting on and made my way over to my bed, which at the moment looked unusually comfortable.

I plopped down on it and tucked myself in.

Yawning loudly, my muscles relaxing as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

---

My peaceful rest was disturbed by a loud knock on the door.

Groaning I got up from the warm mattress and walked over to it, opening it swiftly and was met with an unfamiliar face.

"Huh? Who could this be?"

Half asleep I stared at the man in front of me in pure confusion, waiting for him to explain his sudden appearance.

He looked me up and down, cleared his throat, and then began speaking.

"I'm sorry to intrude like this, and I most certainly would have avoided it if I could." He held eye contact while talking, his gaze cold as ice. It was as if he was some kind of superior, or even a nobleman.

I could already tell I didn't like him.

"However, it appears the medical professionals have requested a meeting with you before breakfast to discuss your....injury."

He kept looking down at me, his superior gaze never leaving. My eyebrows furrowed slightly, it wouldn't hurt if he was a little nicer.

"He thinks he's top shit huh? Talking down to me like I'm some kind of peasant."

"Alright, tell them I'll be there...If that was all you needed to tell me, then I suggest you leave, you wouldn't want to wake the others, now would you?"

Who did he think he was anyway? Nobody should be speaking to me like this, especially not some unknown man.

"I suppose you're right..." With that, he turned around and walked away.

I glared at him for a few seconds, before closing my door again.

"Great, I might finally be allowed to take off these torn bandages.... at least that's what I hope we'll discuss..."

---

I tightened the last strap on my chest, and walked out of my room.

...

While heading towards the infirmary I couldn't help but notice how quiet it was. There were no people around, which was a rare sight here.

Normally I would have really appreciated the silence, but something about it felt.... strange.
