gus texted me first thing in the morning, it was a start.

aspen come to my bathroom i'll see what i have on hand
gus waltzed into my room like he owned the place. "make me pretty" he said. i took him to my bathroom, digging through my work case to see what hair products i had. "you wanna pick?" i asked, holding up a few boxes.
"no just surprise me boo" he said, shrugging. "wait here i'll grab a chair" i said, grabbing the chair from the desk in his room. "sit" i said. "yes ma'am" he said. his hair was black, so my only option was bleach to start. it had faded quite a bit since i moved him, so hopefully it would lift a little easier.
i split his hair down the middle, adding a bit more black on top of one side and starting the bleaching and toning process on the other. "thanks babes" he said. "no problem, i guess i kinda do it for a living anyways" i said. "you look very nice this morning" he said. "thank you" i said.
i could tell he was trying, but making it through tonight without having a random girl over would be the first step. "almost done, i'll have to tone the one side again soon" i told him. "whatever you need to do. do i look cute?" he asked. "yeah" i told him.
i rinsed the dye out of his hair, and blow dried it. "you can look now" i said, taking the towel off his neck and shoulders. "woah, this is dope aspen. thanks boo, i love it" he said. "glad you like it" i said, "can you get a picture?" he asked. "sure" i said, he handed me his phone.

gus and i walked downstairs, tracy was at the bottom of the stairs. "what the fuck is going on with you two" he asked. gus froze like a deer in the headlights, "i like her" gus said. tracy nodded. "so are you like together together or just fucking or what?" tracy asked. "neither" i said before gus could talk. "well, hopefully both soon" gus said. "not peep catching feelings" tracy said. "i don't know bro, i like this one" he said, putting an arm around me. that made me smile a little, at least he was owning it to his friends.
"do you work tomorrow?" gus asked. "yeah" i said, unfortunately. "you want rides?" he asked. "yes please" i said, hugging his side. "aw look at the lovebirds" cody said, joining us downstairs. "ew, not love" i said. "anyways can you do my hair too? i didn't realize you were like actually good" he asked. "well yeah, it's literally my job. i can do yours yeah, i've only got bleach, black, blue and pink in the house though" i said. "blue is fine" he told me.
"alright sit down, i'll go get my shit" i said, i guess the house was turning into 'aspen's ratchet salon' today.
i bleached his hair to lift the purple, rinsed and toned it then added the blue. gus stayed with me in the kitchen, trying his best to help me by handing me stuff. gus stole a quick kiss behind cody's hair while i turned around to grab more dye. "i don't want any ungodly activities going on back there" cody said. gus and i both laughed.
"i'm going out for a smoke, be right back" gus said. i awkwardly leaned against him as some form of a hug, trying not to get blue dye on him. i rinsed and dried cody's hair while gus was out. "what do you think?" i asked, handing him a mirror. "yo this is dope" he said. "glad i can be of service" i said.

- "guess what?" gus asked, walking into my room. "what?" i asked. "you get me to yourself for the whole night" he said, plopping himself down on my bed. "yay" i said, excited. i enjoyed my time with gus, and even more so that i was the only one getting his attention now.
"cuddle me" he demanded, opening his arms for me. i laid down on his, resting my arm across his chest. "i could get used to this" gus said, "so could i" i told him. "i'm gonna drop the album in the next few days. i think i'm ready" gus told me. "that's exciting" i said, i was proud of him. "i wrote a song about us" he said. "did you?" i asked, not thinking of one in particular. "yeah, we think too much" he said. now that he said that, i could piece together how it related to us and stuff we had talked about.
"well, then that's my new favourite song" i said. i never thought i'd have someone write a song about me ever in my life. maybe he's taking me more seriously than i think he is. "i think this albums gonna be a hit" he said. "so do i. you're talented gus, you've for something really special" i said. "thank you, it means the most coming from you" he said.
