as gus' popularity increased, so did the amount of girls chasing him. his comments were full of girls thirsting over him, i don't get it? well i get he's hot, but he very clearly has a girlfriend so like what's the point? he doesn't want you? you have zero chance with him?

some good news is that i've saved up enough to get myself my own car anytime now, i just had no idea what i wanted. gus had actually been covering my rent for the last two months, so that was easy money to save.

"i've saved up enough for a car, you won't have to drive me everywhere for much longer" i told gus. he frowned slightly "aw, i like our drives" he said. "well we still can sometimes" i told him, i didn't want him to think i was taking advantages of drives. i just liked that they were time spent together.

"i really like your family" gus told me again, out of nowhere. "yeah, i'm glad you guys get along so well" i said. "i wish i could have grown up with something like that" gus said. i wasn't quite sure how to respond, "i wish i had a normal family" he said. "well, you're part of mine now" i told him. "i haven't told you much about mine, have i?" gus asked. "you haven't, but you don't have to" i said, not wanting him to feel pressured if he wasn't comfortable.

"my dad cheated on my mom, they got divorced while i was still in school. don't see him anymore. i was basically raised by my mom anyways, i've got an older brother named oskar. i haven't been home in a while, they stopped checking up on me a while ago" gus told me. "i'm sorry gus, that must be hard. i'm sure if you reached out they'd be happy to hear from you?" i asked.

"maybe. i've been on my own so long it doesn't even bother me anymore" he said. "well, you're not on your own anymore" i told him, holding his hand. "i know" he said. "oh and babe—you don't have to try and fend off the girls in my comments and my dm's, i don't even read them" he said. "i know, it just irritates me to no end because like obviously i'm here" i said.

gus and i arrived home. ben, tracy and cody were sitting in the kitchen waiting for us to arrive. "everything okay?" i asked, someone obviously had news. "yeah, great actually. i've got some bittersweet news" cody said. "what's up?" gus asked.

"well, i proposed to bella. she said yes, so we're engaged now. that also means i'm going to be moving out with her. it's been a crazy couple of years, thanks for all the memories lads, and aspen" cody said. "cody! that's so exciting, i'm so happy for you guys!" i said, giving him a congratulatory hug. "thanks asp. i'm sure she'll be texting you constantly for opinions on stuff" he said.

"congrats man" gus said, forcing a smile. he was probably decently upset cody would be moving out. "really sucks to be us right now, single as shit" ben said to tracy. "yeah. gus and asp are gonna be next. before you know it it'll just be the two of us" tracy said to ben.

"i'll stick around till the end of the month, do you guys need help filling the room? i can start looking" cody offered. "get another aspen so i can have whatever happened with them" tracy said, pointing to gus and i. we laughed, "a mean, another girl around would be nice sometimes" i said. i loved my boys but bella was my only real 'girl problem' outlet.

"well, i'll stick the ad back up. put aspen's name on instead" gus said. "seriously though, congrats guys. this is such good news" i told cody again. him and bella had been together for much longer than gus and i, but maybe gus would get some positive influence from this. not to get ahead of myself or anything though.

"you sure you wouldn't turn into a raging jealous bitch if a girl moved in and looked at me by accident or something?" gus asked. "well, you have a bit of a point there" i said. odds someone would move in just to try and get closer to gus for clout? probably high. oh god, now i really do sound crazy. i do watch people take advantage of him every single day though, it's hard to watch because he's honestly just being nice but people only want him for the money or fame.

id like to just keep the room empty but living in a full house in la was not cheap whatsoever. "well we can figure something out, i'm not too worried about it" gus said. "maybe bex will want to come back from london for a little while" gus said. oh yeah, that's the guys who room i took. "why'd he leave?" i asked. "family problems back home or something. not exactly sure, he kinda just up and left within a week" gus said. "odd" i said. "one day we can get our own place though, maybe by the next album we could work something out" gus said. "i'd like that but it's no rush, i'm happy where we are now" i said. "as long as you're happy" he said.
