Laffey didn't want things to change. But things always do. There's no changing it. As the group sat on the cliff edge, Javelin and Unicorn chatting to each other, Laffey thought along these lines.
She saw both Javelin and Unicorn turn to something behind them. Laffey decided to look to. Standing there, was Lights, and another ship. Ayanami.
'Do you guys mind if I leave her with you?' Lights asked.
'Hey! I'm not a child! I can take care of myself!' Ayanami turned to him and yelled. Lights smiled.
'I never said you weren't.' He responded. Javelin nodded.
'Yeah she can hang out with us!' She said happily. Lights nodded to her and left the group. Laffey didn't think much of it. She turned back to the setting sun as Javelin and Unicorn talked to Ayanami.
The next day...
Last night, the four ships agreed to meet there tomorrow. That's when Laffey noticed the change. And she didn't like it. When she got to what they call: 'The cliffside,' Laffey was the only one there.
She didn't mind that and just sat down and waited for the others to come. She liked not having war responsibilities and needing to train every day.
Soon, Javelin came and talked to her. This time, Laffey actually participated.
'So, what do you think of Ayanami?' Javelin asked her. Laffey shrugged.
'I didn't mind her. But, we have only known her for less than a day. She could have a totally different personality to us.' Laffey responded. Javelin laughed.
'You should stop thinking about it too much. Just have fun in the moment.' She responded and looked up to the sky. 'We don't need to worry about anything for now. The war is over.'
'We don't know that.' Laffey quickly responded. 'You hear that there's another nation out there? On an island?' Javelin nodded.
'There's another nation?' Came a voice from behind them. Both Laffey and Javelin turned around to see Ayanami standing there. Laffey nodded. She sat down next to them.
'We found one on a commission. Apparently there are a bunch of ships scouting around it so we know when they'll attack.' Laffey explained.
'We'll be able to take them out.' Javelin said. Ayanami paused for a moment.
'We don't know that unless if we know what things they have.' She responded a little hard. Javelin didn't seem to mind it though.
'Well, we know what we have.' She responded and proceeded to tell Ayanami about Warspite.
Warspite stood in front of the ships that were about to go on commission. Well, this one wasn't a commission. They would try to attack the new nation. Find out anything they could about it. She knew they could do at least something.
Portland, Foxhound and Lights were in the group. Some of the strongest ships in the dock. She wanted to go to, but she needed to stay with the nation, in case if anyone attacked them. They needed some fighters.
'Alright. Your goal is to attack. Learn. We have next to no information about them. All we know is where they are, and that they most likely aren't on our side. But we're going to find that out today. A top priority is for you to make it back alive. Even if you don't find anything out.' Warspite told the ships in the group.
And with that, they were off. The Eagle Union needed information about this unknown threat. Warspite chose to do it now because she knew that someone had to make the first move.
The nation was about three quarters of a day away, so they left as soon as they could. All the ships were high levels, but Lights and Foxhound were the highest at level 120. After the better portion of the day, they made it to the island. Then, the guns fired.
Shells fell at the group. Lights nodded to Foxhound.
'We're going in. You stay behind.' Lights told the group. Lights and Foxhound started to make there way over to the bid island.
'I'm going to.' Portland said and went off after them.
The three ships made it to the island. Then, some ships started to pour out. None of which had names that the ships knew of.
One targeted Lights and he threw his shell throwers and fired his loaded guns. The enemy ship dodged the gun fire and with impressive speed, shot over to Lights, with its sword drawn.
Lights jumped back to avoid being hit and fired another round of ammo. This time the enemy ship couldn't dodge. Both Foxhound and Portland took out the other ships that were guarding the entrance.
Soon, Lights could see the other ships making there way over. Once they all got together, they then got onto the island. From the point they were on, there was lot's of greenery. Lights realised that ships could be hiding in the bushes and trees around them. So, he informed the group of the threat.
They already knew that the nation weren't friendly. They continued on, but they couldn't find a place that would be the docks. But the island was a reasonable size, so it would be hard to find it.
They were on the island for about an hour, and still couldn't find the main camp or docks of the nation. There was also no sign of any other ships.
Suddenly, a purple goo shot out from a bush and hit one of the ship. It was the one right next to Lights. He pulled out his shell throwers, but then they realised that the goo was poison. If they were poisoned, then they probably wouldn't make it back to the Eagle Union.
The other ships must have realised this to, because they all started to run. Lights looked behind him and saw some goo being launched at him. He ducked it and had to stop and run to the left, because it hit the ground right in front of him.
They soon made it on to the ocean, and the ship who was hit only had around one fifth of their total health. They all started for home, but the ship didn't make it that far. By now, the sun was sinking, so they had to stop on a nearby island for the night.
There was a lose, but much was also learned. Now, that the Eagle Union had made the first move, they knew more about their enemy. But, what they did know, they didn't like.

FanfictionI don't own Azur Lane or any of the characters. Lights is mine though. Ok, so this is part 2 to A War With Warspite, and this won't make too much sense unless if you read the first one. Ayanami is sort of the second main character here. There is a...
