A War With Warspite Part 2 (Including Ayanami)

Chapter 15: Final Battle Part 2

After all this time, Ayanami had finally seen Warspite again. But not in the way she wanted. She had to battle her. There was no other way. Warspite smiled. Ayanami was shaking. She felt a hand on her shoulder and Ayanami turned to where it was from. Denver nodded to her. 

'Well,' Ventry said. He was a little to the left of Warspite. 'This turn out will be easier than expected. Two v two.' Ayanami was shocked for a second. She thought it was just going to be a two v one, them against Warspite. 

'Hey!' A familiar voice called out. Ayanami turned to see Montpelier standing a few metres to her left. 'You think your so tough? Then fight me before them!' Montpelier told Ventry. Montpelier looked over to Ayanami and caught her eye. They nodded to each other.

Ventry looked at both Ayanami and Montpelier. He sighed. 

'Well, I guess.' He said. He then nodded to Warspite and walked over to Montpelier. Ayanami looked back over to Warspite. 

Warspite fired her guns at both the opposing ships. Ayanami dodged, but didn't have time to see if Denver had done the same. She took the opportunity and dashed to Warspite. 

Their eyes met for a second before Ayanami swung her sword at her. It struck, but mustn't have done a lot of damage, because she only flinched. Warspite firmly grabbed her sword and plunged it into Ayanami's chest. 

She then threw her to the ground. Ayanami's health flashed down by around three quarters. She only had 500 health left. If Denver had been hit in that explosion, then the battle was already over. 

The smoke cleared from the explosion to reveal a standing Denver. Ayanami couldn't afford to get hit one more time. Or game over. Denver saw Ayanami laying on the ground around 30 metres away. 

Denver knew she had to move fast. She had to get a few hits on Warspite to get Ayanami back in the game. Warspite met eyes with her. Warspite shot over and swung her sword at Denver's head. She ducked and kicked Warspite in the gut. 

Denver to a step back, but before she had to point her guns at Warspite, she was already up. Denver took a step back as Warspite swung her sword at her head again. Denver ducked again, but then dashed towards Warspite and shot her guns at her. 

Ayanami health: 549. Denver health: 4001. Warspite health: 6541.

The shot to Warspite that was close was a good idea. But the force also hit Denver. She got pushed back. By the time she did, Ayanami was up again. Denver nodded to her, signalling that she knew she was. 

Warspite was barely up by then. Denver was loading, and Ayanami was still too tired and damaged to make any large movements. She thought she had them right where she wanted them. 

Ayanami knew that the victory was slowly slipping away from her.  She had to move fast or else one of them would be destroyed. Ayanami grabbed her sword and faced Warspite. Warspite just looked over to her and smiled. 

They just looked at each other for a while. Before long though, Warspite shot over to Ayanami and swung her sword down on her. Ayanami blocked it with her own sword. She then slashed at Warspite and stepped back. 

Ayanami didn't want to us too much of her energy too soon. If she did, then the battle would be finished. She needed to be smart. She was really trying to waste time so Denver could load her ammo.
