"HEY, LIV?" I began. "You guys are searching for the other half of the body, right?"
"How do you— "
"It's literally in the news," I told her. "So?"
"We're more concerned with the animal that killed them," Olivia responded. "So, that means curfew. Sheriff Stilinski's planning one."
"Stilinski?" Stiles's dad is the Sheriff? "Where's the body now?"
"The morgue," she answered. "Shit, Lucy, why am I telling you this?"
"Because you're a deputy and you always say we should know the situation and details in order to be safe," I said, hopeful.
"Get in the car," she ordered.
"Okay," I said quickly, but Olivia wasn't following. "Are you coming?"
"I'm driving," Alex said with the keys in hand.
I groaned, following him. I got into the car and we headed to the school. The ride was silent, but I felt Alex's urge to ask me questions.
"What is it? Ask away," I said.
"Why are you so interested in a body?" Alex asked me.
"I, um... I think there's something more to it," I explained. "Scott McCall, he brushed past me and I saw his memories."
"I thought going into memories was more like an intentional thing," Alex said, confused. "It doesn't happen when people just brush by you."
"Unless they're vulnerable," I explained.
"So what did you see?" he asked.
"He saw the other half of the dead body and was attacked by a large animal," I said. "But the animal – I think it was a wolf."
"So it's the wolf that killed the person," he said, glancing at me. "No?"
"There aren't any wolves in Beacon Hills, I checked," I informed. "I just get a feeling these things are all connected. Scott, Derek Hale, the Argents."
"What? You think Scott got attacked by a wolf and he's a what?" He snickered and said, "A werewolf? God, what are you? A kid? Werewolves aren't real... "
"Neither are we supposed to be," I retorted. "So a werewolf doesn't seem to be that far off. Scott was panicking the night of the party on Friday. Friday was a full moon. Maybe he was changing?"
"Maybe he's just a regular guy with problems," Alex said as we got into the campus.
"There he is!"
A tall boy of, maybe close to, six-foot greeted Alex as we traveled through the corridor. They greeted each other with a bro hug, glad to see each other.
"Oh, so this is your sister? Lucy, right?"
"And you are?" I asked.
"Lucas," he introduced. "I play lacrosse with your brother. How do you like it here at Beacon Hills?"
"Aside from a deadly animal attack, pretty good," I responded.
"Well, I'll be around your brother a lot so you'll be seeing more of me," he said, giving a smile.
"Yeah, she's off bounds," Alex told him, moving him away from me. "See you later, sis!"
"Lucas definitely seems to have taken a liking to you," said the voice of Lydia.
"That is supposed to mean something, I'm sure," I replied.
"Lulu, Lucas is like a solid nine," Lydia said. "I can already picture it."
