"A little help," Jackson groaned.

"Right," I muttered, standing up. I grabbed a long metal part of the shelf, using it as a lever to help lift the shelf off of him.

"Lucy?" I head Lucas call.

"Call 911!" I told him. "There's a body... one injured."

Jackson shimmied his way out, then looked at me, then my shoulder. I hid it, then exited the store. Outside was Lydia, who seemed pretty freaked out.

"What was that?" Lydia asked. "Whatever thing it was, it just jumped out- "

"It was some sort of animal," I said. "The ambulance and police are on their way."

"Oh, my God, is that blood?" Lydia asked, seeing my arm and hand.

"It's... uh, not mine," I said, thinking. "I - I fell into this other person's blood... "

Soon, the ambulance arrived and I was able to wipe my hands and my arm, which had almost healed all the way. There was only a small scratch that could pass as something not to be worried about.

The good thing was the police arrived, starting to ask the four of us questions. The bad thing was Olivia arrived as well. Once she saw me, I could practically hear her heavy sigh.

"Lucy," she called.

"Hey," I smiled weakly.

"What the hell are you doing out here? The curfew, remember?" she said, stern. "Was the dishes and laundry not enough?"

"We were just going out to see a movie, but it was closed, so we went here to pick up one," I explained.

"We?" she questioned.

"Lucas and I," I said nervously.

"You should be studying instead of going on dates," she advised, sounding calm. She wasn't totally mad. "You aren't hurt, are you?"

"No," I assured. "Perfectly fine."

"Good," she sighed, relieved. "You, take her home. And no more dates at night, all right?"

"Yes, ma'am," Lucas responded.

"Sorry," I apologized, walking up to the front of the house.

"For what?" he asked.

"Getting us in trouble?" I responded. "I don't know... I just feel sorry."

"It's all right," he told me. "You're all right, no one was injured. We're fine. Go on inside. Whatever's out there... it might still be in town."

"Nevertheless, thanks for taking me out," I smiled and pecked him on the lips.

I opened the door just to be bombarded with questions from Alex and Camryn. Olivia had just called them, also scolding Alex for letting me leave. But if I was able to argue, I would tell her she should be more worried about what they do at home when we're not there.

"What was it?" Camryn asked. "The animal."

"I don't know," I responded vaguely. "The lights went out, but it was big. Alex, can you help me with something real quick?"
