School. Allison and I were at our lockers. I looked at her, worried. Something was on her mind. I closed my locker and turned to her.

"What happened? Is this about Scott?" I asked her.

"He told me to see other people," Allison told me, disturbed. "Even... kiss him."

"Him?" I questioned.

"Matt," she said. "I'm going to a party with him tonight."

"I mean... " I trailed off.

"You think it's okay?" she questioned, feeling betrayed.

"I think he wants to make your relationship last, even if it's not the smartest idea," I explained. "Okay, he loves you. He's doing his best."

"So, you have a plan to catch the kanima?" Allison asked.

I nodded. "Well, sort of. Not sure if it'll work, but it's the best we got. I can catch you up on details later."

"Yeah, let me know how it goes," Allison said.

It was about eight o'clock or so in the night. Alex and I grabbed a few of our things and we headed outside to the car. On our way out, we saw Olivia.

"We're gonna go," Alex informed as we passed her.

She nodded and we made eye contact. I stopped and turned around. "Liv, what happened?" She looked at me. "You have this guilty look."

"Is that the sheriff's badge?" Alex asked. "You got promoted? That should be a good thing, right?"

"Stiles's dad is the sheriff," I reminded Alex quietly. I looked back at her. "What happened?"

"Since his kid stole the criminal transport vehicle and had a restraining order placed on him, the county decided him unfit... " Olivia replied sadly. "They made me sheriff for the while."

"Then why are you here?" Alex asked.

"I forgot some things," she said. "You guys have fun at the movies."

We had to lie to her. We couldn't tell her we were at a party because she would have said no straight away. Alex drove the car to the destination and we met Derek and Boyd there.

"This is the help?" Boyd questioned.

"You're the help," Alex corrected.

"What do you have to defend yourselves with?" Derek asked. "Scott just texted. Her family's on the way."

"You've got to be kidding me."

"We can handle ourselves," Alex assured. "Air fairy here, remember?"

"Yeah, no fairies stand a chance against a silver or iron bullet," Derek remarked.

Alex grabbed a case out of the back of the car. He opened it and inside of it were two things. Nunchucks and daggers.

"Derek, back off," said Argent.

"Back off? That's really all you got?" Derek mocked. "I gotta be honest, Chris. I was really expecting more from the, uh, big bad veteran werewolf hunter."

He smiled. "Okay, then. How about: didn't anybody tell you not to bring claws to a gunfight?" The guns clicked and aimed at us.

"That one sounded pretty good," Boyd commented.
