Allison worried about her father. He hadn't picked up. We had split ways. I went with Allison in case. Something told me her father wasn't going to be in a healthy shape and I was right. He was bruised and cut up with blood on his face.

And as I healed his injuries, he was telling us about what they were and how he knew about them. It wasn't his first time seeing them.

"There was something almost ritualistic about it. Like it was looking right into his soul," Argent went on.

"That's the same thing it did to me," Issac said.

"That's what they did to everyone," Allison added.

"Not everyone," Scott said. I looked at him. "They only came after the werewolves."

"And Lydia," Allison informed. "And Alex and Lucy."

"Anyone with a connection to the supernatural," Argent concluded.

"Then who was the guy they went after in Japan?" I asked.

"A Kumicho - a Yakuza boss," he responded. "It was my first gun deal. I was only eighteen and it was supposed to be a simple exchange," he began to tell his story.

"Except Gerard left out the minor detail of the buyers being Yakuza. He wanted to see if I could adapt in the moment. Testing my ability to, uh, improvise."

"Or your ability to survive," Allison said.

"The moment the sun came down, it was like they just materialized out of the shadows," Argent continued. "They had swords - not curved like katanas, but straight, black steel iron, like ninjatos."

I looked at Alex, worried. One blow from their swords was deadly. We weren't gonna heal in just a snap. The iron would make us weaker and far more vulnerable.

"What did they want?" Alex asked.

"To get to the Kumicho," he responded. "They cut down every living thing in their way."

"Did they mark him like they did us?" Issac asked.

"Not exactly... " he trailed off.

"What was he?" Scott questioned.

"I don't know," he answered. "But there might be someone who does. There were a few others who survived that night. One of them was a man named Katashi.

"They called him 'Silverfinger' because of an unusual prosthetic. And it looked like he was getting ready to take them all on himself.

"I've known for a while Katashi was in the country. I spent yesterday tracking him down."

"Didn't look like he wanted to be found," I commented, stepping away as the last cut healed.

"Not particularly, no," he said.

"You think he knows what they are? Or what they want?" Scott asked.

"Maybe... "

"What if he doesn't want to talk?" Allison questioned.

"What if he doesn't even remember you?" Alex added.

"He'll remember this." He opened a box and showed us a mask from one of the creatures. "I know I didn't kill it. I'm not sure you can. But, I slowed it down long enough for us to get out of there."

"What was behind the mask?" Scott looked up at Argent.

"Darkness... " he answered, grim. "Absolute darkness."

"The real problem is Katashi doesn't see visitors, ever. He's a paranoid recluse who rarely steps outside the gates of his estate," said Argent.
