Three weeks later
I was in the woods by myself. Taking a walk in nature was soothing. I deserved a break from the supernatural. Three weeks without some Alpha werewolf pack trying to rip us apart. No one trying to shoot us with iron bullets. No human sacrifices or random deaths for that matter.
Things were going smoothly and my grades had gone up a grade in science, now that we've got a different teacher. Okay, maybe there is a small part of me that missed Harris in a way. His sarcastic remarks, his awful facial expression.
Scott was a true alpha now, meaning he didn't have to kill someone to get it. It was by the force of his own will. Though, when he rose, Derek fell. To save Cora's life, he became a beta again. Derek seemed to be holding up better than before. I actually didn't know for sure. I just hoped he was.
Lydia was... normal. I mean, despite being a banshee. I couldn't believe I never found it out. I knew why I could hear her scream. A banshee was said to be like a kind of fairy and it senses death when she screams. I hear it for the level of emotion in her scream - her scream of death.
On a slightly brighter note, Stiles's father believed in him - us. The supernatural. It took being a human sacrifice to finally realize it and not to fight the truth. Their bond was much stronger than ever.
Alex? The closer he got to Allison, the stronger their relationship built. I think Alex was taking it slow, it having been only been a little more than half a year since Scott and her breakup. I think he felt a little guilty.
I paused and looked around at the trees. It felt familiar. I pictured it all - the people, the games. Then, there was an explosion. There were screams. I saw my mother and father, but they didn't look right. Half their faces were burned off. I looked for my pen, but it wasn't there. It had broke.
I woke up, but I couldn't move my body. I tried, but nothing moved. Not even one hair on my body moved a millimeter.
"Lucy!"
I had screamed, shaking awake. Issac took me in his arms and rocked me as I listened to his heartbeat. Scott rushed into the room, worried. It had been happening for days.
"It was just a nightmare," I said to Issac, walking back into his room from changing.
"Usually, when something happens in a nightmare, it reflects what we're most scared of," Issac said, packing his bag. "I'm just saying if you want to talk about it- "
"I will let you know," I nodded. "Okay, thanks for caring, but I'm fi- "
There was a loud thud. Issac and I rushed out of the room and down the left hall from the stairs. The painting on the wall had fallen and Alex was on the ground.
"Hey!" Issac and I moved aside for Scott's mom. "You two supernatural teenage boys. Don't test my entirely un-supernatural level of patience." She gestured that the frame was put back up before leaving.
"Feel better?" Alex groaned.
"What are you doing here?" I asked Alex, helping him up as Scott and Issac picked up the frame.
"To check on you," he replied. "Plus, I needed to talk to Scott."
Scott got into his motorcycle as we got into Alex's car. We drove to the school, but when we got there, I was the only one in the car. I stepped out and walked into the school for the doors were wide open.
It looked abandoned. Leaves got into the school and the lights flickered. I stopped, feeling a presence. I slowly turned around. The creature had red eyes and it growled. When it stepped into the moonlight, I saw his face. Lucas.
