We were in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving. Luckily, Jeff gave everyone the day off to eat with our families, whatever that meant.
"What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving?" Melissa asks as she joins Josh, Ben, and I in an elevator after we walked around the city.
"We're calling Josh's parents and my mom. Our families usually spend Thanksgiving together so this is the best alternative while we're on tour." I explain and she nods.
"What about your dad?" Ben asks and I stiffen slightly.
"My dad is dead." I deadpan, making Josh burst out laughing. Mel's face turns to one of shock before I break. "No, I'm joking. But uh I haven't seen my dad since I was like four so." I shrug as the doors open.
"No wonder he left. Who could love you." Ben mutters and I snort.
"I'd give you a dirty look but it looks like you already have one."
"People who tolerate you on a daily basis are heroes."
"Someday you'll go far! I hope you stay there."
"You need to come with a warning label."
"Wait, hold still, I'm trying to imagine you with a personality."
"Ben! Dylan! Drop it. We can hear you two from down the hall." Meredith says from her room. We shut our mouths and keep walking.
Once we got our food Josh and I called his parents from my hotel room. I laughed at Jax who was staring at the laptop in confusion.
"He has no idea how this works does he?" I ask my mom who picks the laptop up.
"No," she laughs as they sit down at the table, the laptop sitting on the counter.
"Do you guys have food?" Gina, Josh's mom, asked as she sat down.
"Yes! Thanks for the recommendation, Mama B." I say as Josh holds our food up so they could see.
"It looks really good," Josh agrees as he opens the food containers. He hands me my food and we start eating, laughing at Nick and Andrew.
"How have the shows been?" Franny, Josh's dad, asks once everyone finishes.
"They've been good," Josh says, looking over at me. I nod in agreement, leaning back to the small bedside table to grab my water bottle.
"Have you gone on at all Dylan?" Nick asks as I sit back up.
"Yeah, I've gone on for Anthony and Sky," they look confused so I elaborate. "Elmer and Albert." They nod and we keep talking.
"How long are you guys in Pennsylvania?" My mom asks as they move to the living room.
"I think we're here until the end of the month." I answer and Josh nods.
"We go to Maryland after that." There's a knock at the door and I get up to answer it. I open it as Josh laughs at something someone said.
"Hey, sorry, I forgot something." Melissa says and I nod and let her in. Josh waves at her as she grabs a book from her bag. I sit back down next to Josh as Mel leaves.
The door didn't close and Josh and I looked over at it. Ben walked in, carrying his laptop before sitting on Melissa's bed.
"Don't sit there." I say before turning back to my mom who was talking about running into someone.
"Why not?"
"Mel doesn't like people sitting on her bed." He sighs and moves to sit on mine. "Nope. Don't do it," I warn him. He rolls his eyes but sits in the chair by the window.
