The carnival was in full swing. Aaliyah walked into the carnival with Kennedy and her parents.
Kennedy seemed sad and so Aaliyah spent most of the car ride trying to cheer her up.
Dean pointed towards the Jacobs' chilli stand "Let's go and say hello to Cal."
The group walked over to the stand and Aaliyah noticed Nate looking moody, sitting down.
Dean and Esme hugged Cal and Nate's mother and Cal turned to Kennedy "I don't believe we've met before."
He put his hand out "Cal Jacobs." Kennedy shook his hand and smiled slightly "Kennedy Lewis."
Cal pulled back and his eyes widened "Oh. I know who you are. Esme and Dean has spoken a lot about you."
Cal then looked at Aaliyah and turned to his son "Nate! Why don't you go and spend some time with Aaliyah while I have a chat with these guys."
Nate didn't notice Aaliyah until Cal pointed it out and he immediately put his phone away and stood up.
He smiled at Aaliyah "Let's go." Nate started to walk off and Aaliyah quickly caught up with him.
Nate's phone then started to ring and Maddy was on the phone.
Aaliyah could sense that Nate was annoyed as he tried to explain to Maddy where he was "Yo, are you at this Ferris wheel or that Ferris wheel? Well, how the fuck am I supposed to know which one you're at? You don't fucking tell me... Yeah, I know, I know. I'm on my way. I... How am I supposed to know that there's two Ferris wheels?"
Aaliyah silently laughed to herself as the two went to find Maddy. Nate and Maddy slowed down when they saw Maddy walking up to them.
Nate looked at her outfit and frowned "Yo, why are dressed like a hooker?" Maddy frowned "What?"
Nate rolled his eyes "Jesus Christ, Maddy. I'm here with my parents."
Maddy scoffed "So what? It's the carnival."
Nate furrier his eyebrows "No. It's the chili cook-off. It's very important. I can't have you hanging out at the booth dressed like that."
Maddy laughed "Yeah, well maybe it'll sell better."
Nate walked closer to her and Aaliyah shook her head at him "Yo, this isn't a fucking joke, okay?"
Maddy put her hands out "Why are you being like this?" Nate sighed "Listen, my parents already don't like you."
Maddy looked hurt by Nate's words "What?" Nate shook his head "Go home, get changed, and come back looking like a person. Fuck."
Nate walked back into the direction of his father and Aaliyah walked over to Maddy "I think you look stunning by the way."
