Aaliyah Hill was a fucking mess.
You could tell by her eyes that she had been crying before the New Year's Eve party and by the way that she tumbled into the house with a bottle of vodka in her hand and her shoes almost falling off.
The last week was hell for her. She had gotten into an argument with Nate, her mother forced Kennedy to move out after she broke the TV on Christmas Day and she had been avoiding Fezco because her mother found out from Nate that they were seeing each other.
She didn't want to go to this party but she felt like going would help her cope with her mental state.
When Maddy went to find the bathroom and Kat and Jules went to get some drinks, Aaliyah took another swing of her bottle and laughed to herself when she saw Rue crawling on the floor.
"Hey Rue!" The girl stood up quickly and put her hand around Aaliyah's mouth to silence her "Shh! I can't let Jules know that I'm here!"
Rue lowered her hand and Aaliyah laughed drunkenly as she jammed her finger into Rue's chest "Just go and talk to her, Rue. You both deserve it."
Rue's eyes widened as she looked behind Aaliyah and she started to crawl on the floor again.
Aaliyah rolled her eyes at the girl and placed her bottle next to the rest of her drinks.
Aaliyah stopped pouring herself a shot when she looked over at the couch and saw Fezco.
She knew that she would have to talk to him that night but she didn't know where to begin.
She knew that she needed to tell Fezco about her mom but she didn't want to hurt his feelings. She cared about him too much for that.
When Aaliyah's mom found out about Fezco she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
How her innocent daughter was involved with someone like Fezco.
A drug dealer.
Someone who wasn't what she considered to be normal.
Her mom made sure that she didn't spend time with him again so she would give her a curfew and drop her off everywhere so she would know where Aaliyah was going.
Aaliyah didn't agree with all of this but she was tired of arguing with her mom.
It's all she ever did.
As for Aaliyah's father. He was no longer interested in his daughter's social life.
You could tell that he was disappointed in her and didn't really talk to her when she would come home from a friend's house.
Aaliyah felt like her relationship with her parents was over and so her first instinct was to blame Fezco.
She tried to forget about him over the holidays but something about him wouldn't allow her to do so.
