Jack Ryan was obsessed with Aaliyah Burgess. It all started when he saw her at his house party for the first time when they were 14.
He had just started liking girls so when he saw Aaliyah for the first time he knew then and there that he wanted her.
But so did every other guy at school.
Well, expect Nate. And he made sure that no one at that school looked in her direction without his permission.
Jack would see her everyday at school and he wouldn't be able to take his eyes off of her.
He tried to get her attention by playing sports and going to the library but she didn't pay him any attention.
It wasn't until Nate started to date Maddy when he started to give Aaliyah some space.
The first time Jack spoke to Aaliyah was when Ethan had a party and she had just broken up with Corey Miller.
He got her some punch and the two talked for the rest of the night.
Jack was okay with being friends with her but he definitely wanted more. But that went out the window when Nate saw him taking her up to her room when she had a party.
He thought he drugged her and was gonna rape her but that wasn't the case at all.
In fact Aaliyah's drink was already spiked by the time that Jack picked it up from the counter.
The truth is, Nate wanted to make sure that he had a good reason to get Aaliyah away from Jack and was willing to drug her to keep her 'safe'. When in fact Jack needed to keep her safe from Nate.
Even though Jack had rekindled his friendship with Jack after the formal he still felt like she was distant and he wanted to be there for her when she felt sad.
He could tell that she was upset in the New Year's party as he had been observing her all night.
He watched her talk to Fez, he saw her fall outside and he saw her face when Nate was getting beat up by Fez.
He often wondered what had happened between Nate and Aaliyah that would cause her not to help him when he was bleeding on the floor but at that point he didn't care.
He wanted to look out for her. So when she stormed out of the house in shock he immediately thought of a way to spend more time with her.
"Hey, Lee! Wait up!" Aaliyah turned around at Jack's voice and wiped her tears "Hey, Jack! Are you okay?"
Jack chuckled "I should be asking you that. Have you been crying?" Aaliyah shook her head "No, I'm just a little buzzed. I'm gonna head home."
Jack stopped her "Do you have a ride or?" Aaliyah shook her head "No, I was gonna walk. I don't think my house is far from here."
Jack showed a look of concern "You don't sound so sure. Let me take you home. I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happened to you in your way home."
Aaliyah hesitantly nodded "Okay, thanks, Jack." The boy smiled "My pleasure." Aaliyah let her legs drag her to Jack's car who was leading in front of her.
When they reached his expensive, blue Bentley Bentayga, Aaliyah got into the car and admired the interior. Jake got in and started the car as soon as Aaliyah put her seatbelt on.
Jake started to drive in silence until he finally built up the courage to start a conversation with the girl next to him.
"So, we haven't really spoken in a while" Aaliyah shrugged "I'm sorry, Jack. I've just been really busy these last few weeks and I haven't really spoken to anyone. It's nothing personal."
Jack nodded "I get that. I'm going through some things too." Aaliyah looked at the boy "Care to share?"
Jake licked his lips "The fact that I've been in love with you since we were 14 and you haven't even noticed."
Aaliyah put her feet on the dash and frowned "Is that why you always looked at me in the hallways at school."
Jack laughed nervously, clearly embarrassed "Was it that obvious."
Aaliyah smirked "I thought it was cute. I thought you were cute." Jack scratched his face "Really? I thought you couldn't stand me."
Aaliyah rolled her eyes "I never thought that, Jack. I just wanted you to be more confident when you had the chance."
Aaliyah could tell that she was still buzzed but she didn't care. She felt herself suddenly drawn to Jack and she took her feet down and looked at Jack with a flirtatious smile as he continued to drive.
Jack looked at the girl and shook his head laughing "stop looking at me like that." Aaliyah acted clueless "Like what?"
Jack sighed "Like you wanna kiss me."
Aaliyah leaned closer to him "would you be upset if I kissed you?"
Jack's eyes widened and he pulled over to a side street. Jack looked at the girl and she laughed "That's what I thought."
Aaliyah then leaned in and kissed him softly. Jake kissed her back immediately and took his seatbelt off.
Aaliyah pulled him towards her by his shirt and then wrapped her arms around his neck.
Aaliyah felt bad for using Jake like this but she needed someone. She needed to feel loved and Jack just so happened to be that person.
Jake started to kiss down her neck and Aaliyah moaned softly. He then grabbed Aaliyah's legs and pulled her on top of him.
Aaliyah could feel his hands roaming around her lower back and she kissed him harder.
The two teenagers were lost in each other and when Aaliyah got home she got to her room and started to cry.
She felt a tremendous sense of regret. She could imagine what her first day of school was going to be like.
