Love all, trust a few, do wrong to no one
-William Shakespeare-
MORE THAN LETTERS
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life (2 Corinthians 3:5-6).
The Word of God is more than letters; it’s spirit and life. The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The Word builds, lifts, and transforms us from glory to glory. It’s the reason we emphasize meditating on the Word of God.
Meditation gets the Word into your spirit to become personal to you. As you study or listen to God’s Word, every time there’s a stirring in your spirit to speak forth words on the basis of what you’re studying or being taught, don’t suppress it. Speak forth. Each time you hear the Word, it’s God talking to you, but He always wants you to respond; that’s where the glory is!
Until you respond to God’s Word, it won’t produce any results. The Word will be mere letters to you. But the Word in your mouth is God talking; it’s the sword of the Spirit with which you cut the devil down and prevail over the adversities of life.
That transformation you desire in your finances, health and family is dependent on you, your response to the Word. Psalm 119:89 says, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” His Word is settled in heaven, but you must settle it in your life through your affirmations of the Word. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, your Word is my life, and the light that guides my path in victory and glory. I’ll never walk in darkness, because my spirit is enlightened by the Holy Spirit to know and take a hold of my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.FURTHER STUDY
Isaiah 55:11; Acts 20:32; 2 Timothy 3:16-17I stared at that first sentence of the article.
The Word of God is more than letters...
It's spirit and life....
Immediately, my mind travelled back to the day just like this one where I was in my room and I took a long hard look at the brown leather bound book, my bible, sitting on that little bedside table.
It felt so much like a living thing to me that day, not just a book anymore.
A fountain of Life...
Now, opening this booklet Aunty Chidinma gave me, I'm seeing the same exact thing.
The Word of God is more than letters; they are spirit and they are life.
Truly more than letters.
I turned the book over and stroked my hand across the glossy cover.
Dare I admit, I'm getting captivated.
Rhapsody of Realities daily devotional...
Nice name.
On it was a picture of the river Jordan. I hear it had a lot to do with Jesus in the bible days and still attracts pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.
Then my eyes dropped to the name of the author below...
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome written in bold itallics.
Hmm...Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. I've heard of him before. Brushing that aside, I opened the booklet again and continued reading.
I picked up my phone to quickly check out the scripture reference...2(Cor 3:5-6) and afterwards, I moved on.
Meditation gets the Word into your spirit to become personal to you...
Just like Isaiah 43:3, I remembered those words which had been etched unto the fleshy surface of my heart.
Does this mean I meditated on it? I wondered to myself. I think I did...becuase it seemed as if that part was written specially for me and like the scriptures were talking directly to me as I read through it.
I got the word into my Spirit.
Wow! God's word was actually in my spirit. What does that make me? Nah, it doesn't make me anything. I shifted my wandering thoughts away.
Each time you hear the Word, it’s God talking to you...
So God was telling me about his love that day. He wanted me to know he loved me...
He wants me to know he loves me.
He loved me so much that he gave his only son...to die shamefully and excruciatingly just to purchase my freedom.
God loves me. I just couldn't get over that fact...not for one day.
I thought about it everyday. Never had I ever understood love. The closest I ever came was Deji.Even the mere thought of his name sent a pang through my chest.
Swallowing I shifted my focus back to the little booklet.
"The glory in God's Word is your response." I read out loud and nodded.
That transformation you desire in your finances, health and family is dependent on you, your response to the Word...
I shook my head and closed the book on reading that paragraph. Not every thing can be solved with the word of God. That's not possible.
For example, me and Asher. I laughed mirthlessly and unfolded my legs standing up from the bed.

Anyway, it's cool. I made sure though to give a heads up in my last chapter and announcement. I've been attending intensive online classes for almost a month now. Anybody who's also attending online classes can tell you it's not beans 😂
But we thank God for another chapter 😇
