John1:14

"I'm here to visit the Okafors." I explained to the security officer.

"Okafors." He repeated thoughtfully and turned to search the register on the table behind him. "Let me search them up here." After a few seconds, he straightened and with the book in his hand, he came back to stand beside my door.

"I have their number here. Wait a little madam, let me call them." I nodded and waited as he dialed the number on a phone he provided from his pocket.

"Good afternoon ma. Is this the Okafor house?" After a short pause, he nodded. "There's a… please hold on." He pulled the phone from his ear and whispered to me, "Your name please."

"Oh! Tell them Charlie Eze." I nodded and he placed the phone back on his ear.

"A lady who says she's Charlie Eze is here to see you?" He paused and nodded. "Okay, she's on her way." He ended the call and returned the phone to his pocket.

"You may go in. Have a nice day ma'am." He saluted briefly and I smiled nodding as I drove through the gates into the estate.

Now there's a man who knows how to do his job. Ah ahn...see detail. I laughed to myself. As I drove, I took note of the numbers on the houses remembering the number Mrs. Okafor told me.

Estate 11, no. 45.

Finally, I rolled up in front of the fencing around the tall house and honked softly.
The house was painted a rose gold colour just like almost every other house in the estate.

A young lady opened the main door to the house and stepped out to approach me. She was dark skinned and dressed simply in a pair of jeans and a plane pink top. I wondered if she was the daughter Mrs. Okafor talked about.

"I'm here to see Mrs. Okafor. Please tell her it's Charlie Eze." I said adjusting my shades.

"Oh she said you were coming. Let me open the gate so you can drive in." She unlocked the fence-like structure and stepped aside for me to drive in. Setting the gear on drive, I rolled in and parked under the garage canopy.

I turned off the car and got out, my tote bag slung over my shoulder. I walked behind the lady as she led me to the door from which she came.

Once at the door, she pushed it open and I stepped in after her. The door led into a small but prettily furnished ante room.

"You can wait here. I'll call her in." The lady said and disappeared through the door leading out of the room obviously into another room.

Still standing, I turned to take a look around. The walls, instead of state of the art paintings, were embellished with picture frames housing family photos. I stepped forward to examine one in particular. I assumed the six people in the picture were the Okafors. I could see Mrs Okafor sitting beside a slightly grey-haired but fairly good-looking man.

So that would be Mr. Okafor, the loverboy.

I smiled and nodded to myself as I shifted my eyes to the others. Standing with a hand on his shoulder behind Mr. Okafor was a tall young man…probably in his early twenties from the look in the picture. I could spot the resemblance as he had on a smile very akin to the one on the grey-haired man's face.
I figured he was the first Child since he stood taller than the rest and was positioned to stand beside his father.

Towards his left stood two other guys and a lady at the far end. Both guys looked alike with their dreadlocks in a frenzy. Their elder brother had a neater hair cut as he brought his low, only letting his beards grow out. The lady stood out with her light skin…quite different from all the others.
She looked nothing like the person who let me in and so I concluded that must've been the help or someone else.
Her hair was even braided with a very light colour of extension which matched her complexion falling all the way to her hips making her look like a lifelike Barbie except for the black dress she wore. She was the striking image of her mom except for the fact that she was way prettier and the total opposite of Mrs. Okafor's complexion.
