-You call it madness but I call it love-

Don Byas

"Life is not a mystery." I thought.

"What?" Seyi turned sharply to me as if in response to something I might've said to her.

"What?" I asked, an innocent frown folding my forehead.

"You were saying something to me." She said narrowing her gaze on me.
It was then I realized that I was thinking aloud.

"I'm sorry Seyi o. I was obviously thinking aloud." I laughed and turned away to continue sifting through the clothes in the display rack.

Instead of going ahead with her shopping, she just stood there staring at me.

"What is it Seyi?" After getting uncomfortable with her staring, I faced her.

"No, something has definitely changed." She put down the clothes on her arm and placed her hand thoughtfully on her jaw while shaking her head from side to side. "When did Charlie start thinking aloud?"

"Seyi." I laughed and shook my head.

"I'm serious Charlie." She maintained. "And what were you saying about life being a mystery? What does that mean?" She added.

"Seyi I'm sure your mummy taught you It's bad manners to eavesdrop." I wagged my fore finger at her and turned away walking briskly down the cloth line in the second bid to avoid her gaze on my face.

"Something's is not right." I heard her voice as she approached me from behind. I rolled my eyes and turned sharply to face her, a nice smile plastered on my face obviously as a facade...but still.

"I can assure you Seyi, nothing's wrong." I took a deep breath and my mind wandered for a few milliseconds before arriving back. "In fact everything is beyond fine...but supernatural." I smiled to myself.

"You're doing it again. You stare into oblivion without saying anything, then you talk and it's as if you have a PHD in philosophy." She gesticulated wildly causing me to smirk and I rolled my eyes for probably the hundredth time since we came here.

Excessive talking had suddenly become quite tiring these past few weeks.

"Have you been taking Yoga classes?"

Lol...Seyi. The inquisitive cat.

"Seyi leave me alone abeg. Which one is Yoga classes now?" I laughed.

Yoga classes? Hilarious.

"What else did you want me to say? That's the only reasonable explanation I could come up with." She shrugged.

"Then stop coming up with explanations...cause you'd either not arrive at any or confuse yourself." I folded my arms against my chest and cocked my left brow at her.

Instead of conceding, her face lit up and her eyes widened probably the way Michael Faraday's would've when he discovered electricity.

"What crazy idea have you come up with again?" I sighed and turned my attention back to the clothes.

My eye caught a cute red chiffon blouse.
It had ruffle arms but a plain bodice right from the torso to the hips with a pair of thin strings extending from the waist down...I'm sure to tie around.
I lifted the cloth and placed it against my skin examining the colour match. It was nice.

I'll get it.

"This definitely has something to do with Asher." She finally dropped.

So that was the big idea...lol.

"You're wrong again." I smirked in a sing song voice.

"I know it's Asher. You're just trying to veer me off course." She insisted without budging. I faced palmed and laughed more into my palm before dragging it down my face and switching to a slightly frustrated groan

"It's just better you stop guessing. You can't come up with the right answer."

"So you mean it's really not Asher?" The skepticism in her voice made me laugh even more. I turned to look at her face and she wasn't smiling.
I had to struggle to straighten my face almost immediately we made eye contact.

"Seyi just leave me alone abeg. I've told you it's not him." I was still fighting to keep from smiling.
"Asher doesn't control my mood anymore." I shook my head.

"Hmm...I see." Her voice sounded anything from convinced. I knew more questions would arise later. Seyi is one person who understood little or nothing about the famous idiom "curiosity killed the cat".

"How does this blouse look with my colour?" I had taken it off the rack and was now holding it up against my chest.

Obviously still irked that I had changed the subject so quickly, she didn't answer, rather she narrowed her eyes at me. After a few seconds, she rolled her eyes and looked away.

"There's no use getting angry Seyi. I'm perfectly fine." I made to assure her.

"If you say so." She replied flatly. Lol I already had enough on my plate and bothering about a tantrum throwing Seyi wasn't one of them.

"Wo, let's pay for these stuff. Time is going." I watched her from the corner of my eyes.

"Oya let's go." She replied and I smirked.

I placed my blouse on her pile and we carried them to the counter.

There're somethings that are just difficult to explain. I can't even say most of what's happening to me. Why? You may ask...
becuase I do not know myself.

Seyi used my atm card to pay for the items at the counter and they're packed into shopping bags for us.

On our way out, a wave of sadness rushed in and somewhat seemed to overshadow me. I frowned wondering what could be the reason for it. In a show of nonchalance, I shook it off.

Something was wrong.
