James' POV
james: where are you babe? the bar's filling up :/ x
ella: we're on the way, taxi took a wrong turn. you can start without us being there.
james: i want you to see all of our performance though x
james: aye, where's my kiss?x
ella: go and help them set the stage up, we're literally round the corner x
james: changing the subject are we, can't wait to see you xx
I laughed and chucked my phone aside, getting Ella to go to prom with me was getting easier by the second. I fixed my hair and walked over to Con who was strumming on one of our acoustic guitars,
"The girls will be here soon," I said, sitting down in front of him. He shrugged his shoulders lightly,
"Let's hope you don't mess up then." He smirked, I glared at him and turned to Brad who was buttoning up his shirt.
"Are you excited to be performing somebody to you?" He nodded as he finished his last button.
"It's crazy that we have such a big group of people hearing one of our own songs." I agreed. I walked over to the curtain and peered round, smiling as I watched Ella and her friends shuffling through the crowds to get a seat. I felt my palms getting a little sweaty but that was purely down to nerves.
"Right boys, the stage is all yours." We each walked onto the stage, waving a little, before taking our places and grabbing our instruments. I looked over at Ella who had her phone in her hand, turned on its side as if ready to record. I glanced around the room and spotted another group of girls, however my eyes locked onto one particular girl. She was a redhead, wearing high waisted jeans and a crop top. She was extremely pretty, she noticed me looking and waved so I winked back and readied myself for our first song.
After performing all of our covers we finally rolled around to Somebody To You, this was the performance we were all most nervous for. This was the first time properly performing one of our originals and we were begging for good feedback. I ran my hand through my hair and took a seat on a stool, getting ready to sing. The other boys sat down and all looked over to me, nodding slightly.
"So this is our last song of the night," I heard somebody shout 'aw no' and looked around to spot the redhead grinning, I lightly laughed and continued.
"This is one of our own original songs, we finished working on it roughly a few days ago so hopefully it lives up to everyone's expectations. This is Somebody To You."
The show ended and I couldn't be more pleased with the response we had to somebody to you, even though we played it as an acoustic people were cheering and dancing. We got everything we wanted from the performance.
"Boys, do you have enough time to get a few pictures and autographs with people before your party?" Joe asked, peering round the changing room door. We all nodded and finished getting changed, I sprayed my aftershave and followed Brad out of the door. My eyes widened at the queue of people who were waiting to see us, it was the longest it had ever been and at the very front of the line was the redhead. I grinned at her and took my place in between Con and Tris, waiting for Joe to lead the girl and her friends up. The redhead came straight to me and smiled widely,
"I have to say Mcvey, that was a pretty impressive performance." I bit my lip as I admired her appearance,
"Thank you, it's always nice when we get good feedback, especially from attractive girls." I said, she raised a brow at me and handed me some paper.
"What's your name sweetie?" I asked,
"Luna." I took the lid of the pen and wrote her a little message,
'Luna, thank you for your support tonight. You're absolutely stunning and I hope you stick with us, love you lots! James Mcvey xx'
I handed it back to her and she got her phone out,
"We'll do some selfies and then full body pictures yeah?" I said, she nodded and stepped in front of me, handing me her phone. I placed on arm around her waist and held the other out in front of me, she leant back into my chest and we snapped a few cheesy pictures and one of me kissing her on the cheek before handing the picture to one of the bar workers who was helping with the photographs. We took a photo hugging and then a normal photo,
"Hopefully I'll see you at the next gig." I smiled, she leant up and kissed me on the cheek before walking away to Con. I turned and Brad shook his head at me
"It was a bit of flirty banter, I wasn't begging." I joked. We all stood in line for a few group photos before going back into individual pictures and the odd selfie, I looked around the bar but Ella and her friends were nowhere to be seen. I tapped Tris on the shoulder,
"Did you see where El went?" He pointed across the bar to the toilets and I nodded, thankfully she hadn't walked out. We still had a party to go to and I was pretty excited, I hadn't had a good drink in a while.
