The school day came to an end and I made my way out of school, Danni and Hope close to my side.

"I'm so glad the day is over." Hope groaned, running her fingers through her hair.

"Me too, if I hear one more word about maths I might have a mental break down." I joked as we continued walking,

"Looks like your little lover boy is waiting for you." Danni smirked, I glanced over by the gates and spotted James leaning against them. He had his one foot pressed up against the wall, keeping his balance, and his regular cigarette held firmly between his lips. I frowned and shook my head,

"He's probably waiting for his friends," I couldn't help but watch him, the whole bad boy thing really worked for him, but it didn't impress me. We drew closer to the gates and James spotted us, he dropped his cigarette on the floor and stamped on it until it went out.

"It's about time." He sighed, removing the sunglasses that were hanging off his top and sliding them on over his eyes.

"What?" I questioned, ignoring the stupid comments coming from Danni and Hope.

"You take forever to walk out of school, I've been here ages. Come on." James said, turning on his heel.

"What do you mean come on?" I replied, waving goodbye to Danni who's ride had arrived.

"You're coming over, right?"

"Yeah but not until later on." He shook his head,

"I've taken time to wait for you, so you're coming over earlier. We'll go grab some food." I looked at Hope who just shrugged her shoulders,

"Fine, I'll see you around Hope." She said goodbye and I trailed behind James, ignoring anything he had to say to me. I kept my eyes glued to the floor as we walked, not wanting to tread on anything however my eyes shot up when I felt somebody's hand on my waist pulling me back. I turned round to see James, still holding my waist securely.

"Look El, I didn't mean to sound like a díck then. I just wanted to start the tutoring earlier, you know?" I shoved his hands off my side,

"Well you sounded like a complete díck." I snapped, turning away and continuing walking.

"I can't help it, it's who I am." James murmured, catching up to me.

"Well you need to learn how to treat people with respect."

"I'm just scared." He mumbled, I stopped dead and turned to him.

"Scared? Of what?"

"Losing my reputation." I rolled my eyes at his sarcastic comment and marched off, but soon stopped when I realised James wasn't behind me.

"Wrong way babe, we've gotta cross here." He chuckled, showing his usual smirk. I looked away from him, not wanting to melt at the sight of his smile and crossed the road.

"I don't think babe was appropriate at this time." I said as we turned the corner,

"Is it appropriate when you're screaming my na-"

"Stop." I snapped, he clutched his stomach and continued laughing.

"Bless you, you're not really one for details are you?"

"If you say anything else I'm leaving." I huffed, his cockiness was really aggravating me.

"M'sorry, it's how I am some times." We finally reached the small coffee shop on the corner, he pushed the door open and we entered. He led me over to a small table in the corner where we oth took a seat, I slid my bag under the table and watched as James eyed up one of the waitresses.
