The overall score ended up as 6-1 which was a pretty good comeback from James' team,

"How about we get that coffee now to celebrate?" James asked as he pulled on his spare jacket from his bag. I nodded and stood up, grabbing my bag.

"Good match today Mcvey, keep playing like that and you'll do us proud." Finch said, patting James on the back. James grinned widely as he had scored 4 of the 6 goals today, which was pretty impressive.

"Thanks mate, I'll do my best." He looked over at me and frowned,

"This your girl?" He laughed and shook his head.

"No, no. Just a mate." He laughed back,

"Okay James, sure. I'll see you at training." He walked away and James turned back to me, waving his wallet in front of me.

"Come on, coffee." I followed James out of the park and across the street to the little coffee shop on the corner.

"We'll have to be quick because I need to get home." I said, taking a seat. James ordered our drinks and actually paid for us both today, which was a bit of a shock for me considering he made me pay last time.

"I bet you're looking forward to writing those essays." James said, smirking at me.

"You aren't even funny, it's your fault I have to write them anyway!" I proclaimed,

"It's your fault for staring at me." He replied, I fell silent. I didn't want to confess that I was watching him, even though he kind of already knew.

"Yeah well it's your fault for being in the way." James raised an eyebrow before laughing loudly.

"Seriously that was one of the worst comebacks ever." I rolled my eyes and drank my coffee.

"Don't be silent with me, I was joking." James said, grabbing my hand. I pulled away and placed it on my cup.

"I know you were, I just need to drink this quick so I can go." He looked down at his phone,

"Speaking of going, I need to go. Like now." Before I could say another word he'd took off out of the shop, leaving me, his empty coffee cup and his jacket behind. It was dark and I didn't really like the idea of walking home alone, so I gave in and rang my mum. I finished my drink and stood outside the shop, waiting patiently for my mum to arrive.

"Look who it is." Somebody said approaching me, at first I didn't recognise them but when the light was on them I could see it was Tristan and Brad, James' friends.

"What do you want?" I sighed,

"Just came to say hello, we were actually on our way to meet James. He's with Con, but isn't that his jacket?" Brad questioned, tugging the arm. I adjusted it so it sat right and shrugged,

"Yeah so what," He looked over his shoulder at Tristan and raised his eyebrow.

"Ooh feisty, I was only asking. Things must be getting pretty serious between you two now." I shook my head,

"Nothing is going on between us and nothing ever will alright, here take his stupid jacket I'm gone." I said, ripping the jacket off me and throwing it at Tristan. Luckily my mum had just pulled up so I got in the car and slammed the door.

"Who are those boys?" She asked as she drove away.

"James' idiotic friends." I snarled, she kept quiet and I ran my fingers through my hair. I had a lot of homework to do, I needed to practice my dance for my performance and I haven't even caught up with the girls. When we arrived home I ran inside and straight to the kitchen, pouring myself a coffee and taking it upstairs. I turned my laptop on and set my phone down with my coffee, changed into something more comfy and got my paper ready to start writing. My phone flashed and I unlocked it,

danni: where were you tonight? thought we were going to practice the performance?xx

ella: got kept behind, then forced to go to a football match, then harrassed by Tris+Brad. I've honestly had no time, now I've got two essays to write. We will practice tomorrow, I promise xx

danni: what did Tris+Brad want?xx

ella: idk, they wanted james but somehow stumbled on me. I wasn't even with him xx

danni: ah, idk then. just ignore them xx

I put my phone back down and continued writing my essay, my hand was aching after an hour and my fingers felt like they wouldn't return back into their original shape. I had finished one essay and was halfway through another, as I picked up my pen to write my phone flashed again.

james: sorry for leaving you, i had to go somewhere x

ella: to con, i already know x

james: oh:( sorry babe, i would have spent more time with you but we needed to meet. forgive me?x

I laughed, 'babe' - not again.

ella: yeah yeah whatever. just stop talking to me bc i need to do this essay x

james: i don't want to x

ella: well i'm busy x

james: but you're still replying to me;)x

ella: sadly i am x

james: you clearly want to talk to me, don't deny it. i want to talk to you too babe x

ella: james stop.x

james: why?;)x

ella: bc im busy x

james: just one last thing, why did you give tris my hoody?x

ella: bc they were saying things and it was easy okay x

james: i wanted you to have it, it looks good on you baby x

ella: well you've got it now, i'm going bye x

james: bye :* xx

I sighed and set my phone down, just another fifteen minutes of writing and I would be done. I quickly finished up and put my essays in my bag for tomorrow,

"Ella honey, go to bed now please." My mum said, popping her head round my door. I stood up and tucked my chair in,

"I'm going, I just had to finish some work." she smiled and pulled my door to, mumbling a 'goodnight' as she walked away. After turning my light off I clambered into my bed and snuggled up into my duvet, however my room lit up from my phone flashing.

james: night princess xxx

What has gotten into him? 'princess' - I will admit, I fell asleep smiling.
