James' POV
I worked alongside Ella throughout the first two hours but found myself constantly drifting away from the work because it was in fact, b-o-r-i-n-g. Ella didn't seem to think so though, she was so caught up in it. Drawing little diagrams, writing speeches, creating mind-maps, she put her heart and soul into it. I, on the other hand, sat and scribbled down the odd song lyrics that came into my head. Me and the boys had been working on releasing an actual song of our own, instead of recording covers and putting them on YouTube. However girls really seemed to like our covers, especially girls in school so the covers weren't all that bad.
I had song titles lingering on my mind, for some reason 'Wildheart' kept coming to mind, but I had no idea where to go with that yet. However I did have a few song lyrics for a different song, I'm not sure on a title but the lyrics went along the lines of 'I know I don't know you, but I'd like to skip the small talk and romance, girl.'
And yes, these came to mind because I was sat next to Ella and I kind of needed her to speak to me and actually acknowledge me because I need her to agree to go to prom with me. However from whats happened today, it doesn't seem very likely. I needed to do something to get her to at least spend more time with me, I turned to her and placed my hand on the paper she was writing on. She snapped her head up at me and threw me a death glare, I decided to ignore it and not react.
"So, I-uh, I was wondering if you wanted to do something later? Like watch a film or something?" She raised an eyebrow at me,
"Me? Ella? The girl you've never spoke to the whole five years you've been here." She snapped, I moved my hand out the way and held them up in defence.
"Sorry love, I was only asking." She placed her pen on the table,
"There's obviously a reason why, you don't just suddenly ask somebody to watch a film with you after five years of never talking to them." I rolled my eyes,
"A simple yes or no would have been fine you know." She slammed the book in front of her shut,
"Fine, no. I don't want to." I smiled and nodded,
"Alright I'll get y-wait, what?"
"No." She grinned, sliding her book into her folder.
"Why?"
"Because you're a bit of a jerk." I dropped my head in my hands and sighed, I needed a reason to get her to come round and quick.
"Look okay, I need your help. That's why I'm asking you to come round." She slowly turned to me,
"Go on." I sat back in my chair and nibbled on the end of my pen,
"I need you to help me with History, like tutor me." She raised her eyebrow,
"Why? You said History was stupid and there's no reason to keep digging into the past."
"I know, but I need to pass to make sure that I can leave school with good grades." She stayed silent and continued to pack up her stuff, leaving me hanging. I slid my pen into my pocket and grabbed my bag from under the desk, I pulled out my aftershave and sprayed it on me.
"Fine, I'll help you. But that's all I'm doing." She stood up and pulled her bag onto her back.
"I'll wait for you at the end of school in the cark park okay, come to my car." I mumbled, sliding my bag onto my back and walking over to Tristan. I heard her mumble a response but couldn't quite catch what it was, I perched on the end of Tristan's table and smiled cheekily at him.
"I've got her coming round tonight." Tris smiled and patted my back,
"Good on ya mate! Make sure you use protection." I leant forward and smacked him round the head.
"Not for that reason you idiot, she's going to tutor me." His eyebrows rose and a smirk played on his lips,
"Not like that Tris god, you're so dirty minded! I made up a load of rubbish about needing to pass History and stuff so she would come round." Tris nodded, impressed.
"Well, let's hope she takes a warming to you." I nodded back,
"Let's hope."
