I present "Primous Rising" by elmirafh !
Cover:The cover seems to be a reflection of the expected omen highlighted in the blurb and the actual story. The colors used went a long way to show the reader that not just anything was happening or going to happen but it was something or someone as dark as the night, possibly murderous, the epitome of evil. The cover seemed well thought out and I like that.
Blurb:
It gives the reader a glimpse of the setting existent in the novel and includes some suspense by being discreet about who exactly that threat is. I was definitely interested in the possibility of a love triangle in the midst of all the chaos. I also wanted to find out whether Celestiana would be able to survive all that was coming to her and whether consequences if she didn't would not only affect her but the people around her. I think blurb could be made a little more indirect and less revealing by turning some of the statements into questions. For example,
What happens when the principles trusted Lord finds himself falling for Celestiana?Or,
What will be the ultimate price to pay for failing to follow the right path?
Plot:
It begins with a suspense filled instance and introduces the main character and other similarly important concepts through the events. I like how even though parts of the blurb are being reflected in the plot, the latter is still going at a steady pace. It's not to rushed and it creates enough background on the characters yet raises questions on certain aspects of their lives. I was looking forward to viewing the main character experiences with the multiple threats especially the one mentioned in the blurb.
Characters:
I was excited to find out the immense potential Celestiana had as frequently mentioned by some characters in the novel. It's nice to see that even though some characters are out there to get her, there are still some who are willing to stand by her side and fight. I'm secretly really hoping things work out between Celestiana and Nikolus though. I'm not really feeling Elliot.
Grammar:
There are hardly any grammatical or typographical errors and the paragraphing was pretty fine.
