It's been a while and I'm so sorry for the long wait! I'm super excited to give a review of Aahna's ( fly2live ) novel "Daydreaming" !
Cover:
I really like the cover. The white color of the fonts was the right contrast with the black background and I honestly thought the image of the girl was eye-catching. The clouds creates an impression of some thing dock in trouble, like a storm if you will. Finding out about the girl in the black just created a reasonable link to the image on the cover. Apart from my belief that the font for the title, "Daydreaming" is kind of plain should adopt a more stylish form, good job!Blurb:
Reading the blurb made me realize that Zara had a lot to unpack in her mind as illustrated in the cover, not only in the past, but the present as well. I was interested enough to want to join her on her journey towards doing so, especially the part involving Zyan.I do think, however, that the last question asked at the end of the blurb is kind of a spoiler. I suggest that that question be raised only within the story instead. That would definitely be a wonderful surprise to your readers.
Plot:
The beginning already invoked some emotions and reasons for them, which were merely mentioned in the blurb. It also introduces the reader to the main characters and I immediately found myself pleasantly surprised as I tried to figure out what the deal with Zyan was. It made me want to know more in the subsequent chapters. The use of the different points of view was done well since they managed to provide some perspective from both characters without creating any form of confusion. The introduction of COVID was quite bold of you and an effective reminder of the reality we're in even if one were to lose themselves in the utopian world you've created.Characters:
Zara is quite a thinker. That's honestly what I like about her; the fact that she's not the average shallow portrayal of girl characters. Her love for music is also seen to be a deep part of her life and quite interesting.Zyan is definitely an exciting mystery to be unraveled and I'll love to see how his character plays out.
Grammar:
There are only a few grammatical and typographical errors. It's nothing a little editing cannot fix.Generally:
I genuinely have high expectations for the characters and the story as a whole and at the rate at which your novel is going, it seems as though I and any other reader (hopefully new ones after this review) would not be disappointed. Keep writing!Thank you so much fly2live for requesting! Check out "Daydreaming" everyone!
Thanks for your support and have a wonderful day!😃❤️
