Vince's P.O.V

There were five hours before we were due on stage, and just ten minutes ago, I was told by the Gov we have to do a press conference.
I had two minutes to grab the closest phone, call my parents, and tell them to switch on the news station. This was going to be live!

We were on the roof of the hotel we were staying in, sat in a line all next to each other.
Dylan, then Monroe, then Stevie, then me, then Eddie on my left.
The press were all sat in front of us, holding cameras, notebooks, voice recorders... I've never seen anything like it.
"You ever been on live TV before?" Eddie asked me, as we had a minute or so before we go live.
"Once... Kinda." I snickered, thinking about it. "My little brother, Rikki, and I, we were walking home from school one day, and saw a local news team doing a story. We started doing lunges and push ups, in the background!"
Eddie laughed, shaking his head at me. "You're fucking crazy, man..."

"OK! Is everyone here?!" Waiting for no answer. "Good. The first concert with the new leading man of Janie's Gun begins in..." Gov checked his watch. "Four hours and fifty five minutes." He held a microphone standing in front of the table, having Stevie trying to see the press, as he stood directly in front of him - Stevie leaning into Monroe to see.
"We'll be leaving straight after, no further questions. I'll now hand you over to the most energetic band on the planet... Janie's Gun." Gov smiled, before nodding to us.
"... And we're live!" A guy in the back called out, before everyone jumped up, wanting to ask questions.

"Holy shit." I muttered, staring at them all.
"Guys! I'm Victoria Bridges, BBC One." A woman spoke up over all the noise. She was tall, with long blonde hair and black framed glasses. Quite the cliché.
"How did you all discover Vince Morgan?" She asked.
Monroe and Dylan burst out laughing.
"He discovered us. That's the true story." Dylan spoke into his mic.
"And how did you react, when you first heard him sing?" The woman asked.
"Like you all will tonight." Monroe smirked.
I liked that. I smiled at that!

"Vince! Where did you learn to sing?" Another woman called out.
"He was born with vocal chords. It came from there!" Eddie smirked at me.
I laughed.
"Stevie! Is it true you and Ozzy Osbourne are collaborating?" A man called out.
"I' nev'r met theh almigh'y Oz." Stevie looked confused.
"Eddie! Is it true you're getting engaged?!" A woman asked.
"No comment!" Eddie didn't waste a second.
"Dylan, are you really dating Tamara Jenkins?!" A woman asked.
"That reality star?" I looked over at him.
"We hooked up! We're not a item. Do you really think I'd fall that lowly?" Dylan complained.

I could see the gov in the back, waving his hands, shaking his head.
He clearly stated before the conference 'No swearing. No shit talking. No personal messages to anyone.... And NO Swearing!'

"Monroe!" A guy stood up. "Is it true you're in a relationship with your guitar tech?!"
"I'm in a relationship, yes. Who I'm going out with, I'd rather not discuss." She made it very clear.
She never posts personal pictures on her Instagram, and that's the only social media she uses, though Stevie told me she does have a SnapChat, but that's strictly for her to keep in touch with her family...

"Vince! Do you think you're the next Todd Ericson?!" A male's voice called out.
"You don't have to answer that." Eddie nudged me, speaking so only I could hear him.
"Nah, I'll answer." I sat up, leaning towards the mic. "Do I think I'm the next Todd Ericson? My answer is no. He had his shot, and now I have mine. This isn't the same band from 'Look What The Cat Dragged In'. Todd had his way of going about things, and I have my own way. I'm not a copy cat. I'm out here living my own dreams, knowing when the fantasy of being a 'rock star' ends, and the reality of being the lead vocalist of Janie's Gun begins. Todd never got that."

Eddie, Stevie, Monroe and Dylan were all looking at me.
The gov was at the back of the crowd, in full sight for us.

"Can I add to that?" Monroe asked.
The guy didn't mind, nodding for her to go on.
Did I say something bad...?
"Todd Ericson was our desperate attempt to hit the limelight. It was us four who shot the 'Talk Dirty To Me' music video, it was us four who attended every photoshoot and interview, and it was us four who carried on for five nights without a lead vocalist." She held such power in her voice. "But from now on... It'll be us five, taking over the world. Vince is here to stay, and if people have a problem with that... They can go fuck themselves."
Suddenly, everyone was in a frenzy. Cameras were flashing, Stevie was in hysterics, Gov literally face palmed, and we all smiled at the cameras.

"Do you really think you'll make it into the big league?!" A voice called out, don't know who it was, or from where it came from.
"Can't say, but we sure as hell can try!" Eddie smiled.
"Dylan, what's your take on that?!" A man at the front asked.
"Hoorah!" He smiled.
"Monroe?!" A woman asked.
"I'm with Eddie. Did you ask this to Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, Duran Duran...? Is there really a 'big league' or is it just hit after hit?" She was very relaxed about this.
"Stevie, what do you think?!" A woman at the back asked.
"HELL Y'AH! I th'n' we cahn ma'e it!" Stevie beamed, his voice going up a pitch.
"Vince?! Do you think you could become a global rock star?!" A voice asked.
All eyes were on me...

I looked to the guys. They already knew they were shining stars, and now I'm one of them...
I leaned into the mic, with the biggest smirk on my face.
"Fuck yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" I sung out, holding the note for as long as I could.
Another frenzy.

Eddie grabbed me, kissing my head, as thousands of questions were being thrown at us, talking over each other.
"Rock and roll!" Monroe shouted out, cameras showing no mercy.
Dylan just sat back and nodded, unfazed.
"Hi, mum!" Stevie smiled, waving to the cameras.
