Dylan's P.O.V

"I will give you one chance to explain yourself!" I had Kirk cornered, the very next day.
"What's going on?" Vinnie overheard, coming over.
"Kirk had a woman on his arm last night, while Monroe and I were sat alone in the hotel bar." I glared at Kirk, talking to Vinnie, all of us stood in an empty room, backstage in Manchester.
Kirk looked at me with big eyes.
"You can't lie to me, Kirk. I know every excuse in the book. I wrote them." I warned him.
"I don't know what I was thinking. Honestly!" He looked at me, scared.
"Kirk, no... You didn't. What about Monroe...?" Vinnie looked at him.
"I know... I just... I don't know..." He couldn't look us in the eye.
"Did you sleep with her?" I asked him, clear as the day.
He hesitated.
"Jesus..." Vinnie staggered back. "It's Marie all over again..."
"Break up with her." I was pissed. My hands shaking.
"I'll do that, when you tell her you're diabetic!" Kirk shot at me.

"What?" Vinnie looked up at me.
"I'm a diabetic. I have been since I was a kid. No one knows, only Eddie. Kirk overheard us, one day. I'm alright, Vin, but you're making a big mistake." I told Vinnie, ending with Kirk.
"She can't know about this." Kirk looked between us.
"Too late... I'm her friend. Friends are honest with each other. Dylan, you really should tell everyone, but that's on you. That's your health, a different story. This is Monroe's feelings." Vinnie stood tall. "I'm going to tell her, and you're not going to stop me."
Vinnie walked out the room, Kirk was about to chase him, but I pinned him to the wall.
"Just 'cause you dress like a pimp, doesn't mean you have the right to fool around. That's the fools game. My game!" I warned him. "You brought this on yourself, but I know she'll be OK..."
I got an idea. "Tell her yourself, or not at all."

I chased after Vinnie, finding him walking out of Monroe's dressing room.
"She's not here..." He told me.
"Don't tell her. I had a word with him. He'll do it, or he's off this tour." I told him. "I'm going to tell her about me."
It's time I told her the truth, why Eddie worries about me so much.
"OK... OK..." Vinnie was worried. "You are OK though, right?"
"Yeah. I promise." I held a hand on his shoulder, looking him in the eye. "I'm OK."
He nodded, and Monroe walked around the corner, coming this way, talking to Joe.

I took a deep breath and took a couple of steps forward, passed Vince.
"Katie..." I got her attention.
"Whoa, man..." She looked at me. "You never call me that."
We stood face to face, Vince and Joe on stand by.
"There's something about myself that I've never told you. Both Eddie and now Vince know, and now it's time for you and everyone else to know..." This was tough. "I was six when I was diagnosed... I have type one diabetes."
"What? No, you don't..." She looked at me.
I pulled my insulin out of the pocket of my leather jacket, showing the red case to her.
"Dyl-Man... What? I... Why?... I don't... I don't understand..." She took a step back.
"I don't want you to worry about me. This is why Eddie's always so concerned about me. I know you've seen him. I take four shots a day. Every time you've seen me eating cookies, I've been feeling off, but it's the diabetes." I explained.

It must of all clicked for her, as she took another step back, crashing into Joe.
"I..." She couldn't look at me.
"I didn't want it to take this band away from me..." I frowned.
"Dyl-Man..." She whispered.
We looked up at each other.
"I get it... I see it... Dyl... I..." She took a deep breath. "I understand now... I'm terrified of needles. I get why you hid this from me... It explains all the times you've eaten cookies, and how I always fall asleep before you... You stay awake so I don't see you take your insulin... Dylan, it's OK... I understand. It's OK. Thank you for telling me." She came and hugged my waist.
I hugged her back, seeing Joe nodding at me. He caught on that I was hiding something, glad to see it now out of the bag.

. . .

The whole day Kirk kept away from Monroe, and Monroe kept away from Kirk, spending her time around either me, or the Gov.
She was a wreck about her emotions.
I've been keeping a close eye on Kirk, since this all started. Vinnie and I keeping it tight lipped.

The tour went on. Kirk and Monroe stopped sleeping in the same room, Kirk bunking with Alec.
England was over, we hit France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Japan, Finland, some places I never heard of, but Mr straight A Stevie knew all about.
Then, we were back in America.
We hit PA, Stevie's parents came to every show, met Sherrie, and planned to get dinner with them and Sherrie's parents when they next could.
We hit New York, where Eddie and Maria were acting very... intimate... He's done something...

"We've been everywhere... Places I haven't heard of, places I've always wanted to go. We've ruled every night we've played, but you're up to something." I smiled, sat next to Eddie on the tour bus, as we were making tracks to Madison Square Garden.
"OK, OK!" He smiled. His mum and sister came out to see us. It went from 'Yay, Eddie!', to some serious squealing and jumping around...
"Maria!" Eddie called for her, standing up.
"Now?" She smiled, walking from the back of the bus.
He nodded and she ran into his arms. They had the whole buses attention.
"We were going to announce this tonight, as Madison Square Garden is where we had one of our first dates..." Eddie started, smiling down at Maria.
"Whah?" Stevie asked from the back of the bus.
We all snickered, Eddie shaking his head. Classic Stevie.
"I said we were going to tell you all tonight!" Eddie laughed.
"I 'eard ya! I'hm askin' whah d' ya 'ave tah say?!" Stevie called back at him.
I laughed, slapping my leg. "Good ol' Stevie!"
Eddie shook it off, smiling, before he got to it.
"You wanna...?" He looked to Maria.
"OK..." She clapped her hands excited, turning to all of us.

"We're engaged!"
