The day of the Moon festival had arrived. Hundreds of Lycans from around the world traveled to the Temple. All the dorm rooms full of families. The kitchen smelled of food all day and well into the night, feeding everyone.
Crixus stayed busy with Uwchlan. Being the Adalwolf during this time was taxing. Minerva made this position so he was praised beside his King every morning of the festival. Lasting the four full days of the Harvest full moon, each morning there was a group prayer. Each day for a different season.
Kye with his new rank was standing beside Crixus every morning. He slowly got used to being at least standing in front of people. He would lean slightly against Crixus for support, and it seemed to work.
The Temple games went on and hundreds of vendors flocked to the Temple to sell their wares. The games consisted of sparing matches between Lycans and a test of endurance of climbing the mountain. It was a time of peace around the world. The Banda driven back by the snow there was no threats for miles.
+It was the second day of the festival and lunch time was always a busy time. Everyone trying to get and out of the mess hall at the same time just clogged the hallways. Crixus hid away in his room with Kye. It was quiet down his end of the Temple. Kye had recipes to write and hand out to Rendell's weekly. He was busy sitting in bed scribbling away in his books. Crixus lounged behind him in bed, half dressed. He was not feeling being around people today. Kye had him calmed down now but early in the morning he was cranky and angry. Being alone with Kye smoothed him out. Everything was easier to handle with Kye around.
Crixus turned to his back to look over at Kye.

"Hey, have you seen Olcan lately?"

Kye shook his head focused on his book.

"No..."

"That was a funny sounding no."

Crixus prodded. He could always tell if something was wrong with the pup. His voice gave him away. Kye set his book in his lap and said.

"I haven't seen him since I visited him."

"Visited?"

"Yes...I wanted to try and understand why he was so mad about us."

Kye spoke softly. He turned to look back at Crixus.

"I just wanted to try and see his side."

"And?"

Crixus pushed himself up against the wall gazing at him. Kye shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm not going to say I don't understand because I do. I just don't agree with him. Whatever someone does on their own time is their business. I left it at that."

"Uwchlan said he spoke with him. I don't know the results but they did speak."

Crixus sighed softly.

"There will always be people who don't understand our laws like we do. All these "new teachings" from the Ulfred need to die."

Kye closed his book and crawled into bed.

"They won't make you leave me will they?"

Crixus shook his head and pulled Kye into his arms. Hugging him tightly.

"They couldn't even if they tried. Don't worry about Olcan, he's just a Channing. You are an Adalwolfa. Tell him off."

Kye buried his face in his chest hugging him tightly.

"Okay."

"Uwchlan ranked you knowing what you are to me."

Crixus said softly. He petted Kye's hair, feeling him sigh.

"If the King says it's okay, it's okay."

Kye nodded against his skin. Calm again. Crixus smiled and lifted his head up to kiss him.
