Torture- part 3

Burning,death, destruction: all around me,buildings collapsed, burned, explosions igniting, wicked workers surrounding the area. We made our way across the battle until we stopped to rest, hiding behind an upturned car.

I noticed Newt coughing and gasping for air.

"Newt are you ok?" I asked him.

"Yeah" he said "nothing to worry about love"

"She, doesn't know" said Thomas.

"Shut it Tommy!" Newt snapped.

"I don't know what?"

"Look what you've done now Tommy!"

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT!"

Everyone went silent.

"What's going on?" Asked Minho.

"I'm sorry... it happened when you were still in wicked... I didn't think you would have to see me like this... I never wanted you to know..."

"Know what Newt?" I put my hands on his shoulders " know what?"

"I've got the flare"

My hear stopped. That couldn't be true. He can't have the flare. But then I remembered.

*Flashback*

"You can torture me all you want Janson I'm not telling you anything!" I spat.

"Then we may never find a cure"

"THERE IS NO CURE!" I thrashed in my chair.

"There may be, we just haven't found it yet"

"I'm not telling you anything"

"Well that's a shame because if we can't find a cure we can't stop the flare from spreading. It would be a shame of one of your little friends caught the flare"

"That's not going to work" I laughed " I'm not stupid, I've seen the files, we're all immune!"

"Not all of you"

"What are you talking about?"

"He isn't Y/n. Newts not immune"

He isn't immune. It is possible.

"No" I whimpered " no, we need to get him the serum or he'll die!"

"Brenda has it" said Thomas.

"We need to get it now!"

"Ok, you,gally and Minho go get it, I'll stay with him"

"No I'm staying"

"Y/n..."

"Thomas im not leaving him!" I cried "  I just found him again and you want me to leave?"

"Look, it will be easier if you go with them"

"But..."

"We're wasting time arguing we need to go!" Said Gally.

"It's alright love, I'll see you soon" Newt said.

We all ran through the destruction until we reached the Berg where Brenda had the serum.

"Y/n stay here where it's safe" said Minho "me and Gally will get the serum to Newt"

"I'm coming with you" I told him.
