"Hey guys, can you come help me?" Katie asked, attempting to lift up her drum set on the stage. It was the day of their first show, and they were setting everything up. Maddi and Chase ran over to help her, lifting the biggest drum on the stage. They grabbed all of the extra parts and set them down in their places. Katie sighed and sat down, Maddi and Chase sitting beside her. All of a sudden they felt their phones vibrate in their pockets.
They looked at their phones to see what it was, and all three girls stared at their phones, their jaws dropped. "HOLY CRAP." Maddi said, almost dropping her phone. "You see it too, right?" Katie asked. Maddi and Chase nodded, and stared at the tweet on their screens. Calum had tweeted: So stoked to see this cool new band perform in my fav diner. Come on down and watch the Rejects with me and the boys! :)
"No. No no no no no no no." Chase said, shaking her head. " We can't perform in front of them! We'll mess up! No!" Chase ranted on, and Maddi attempted to comfort her. "Chase, we'll be fine. Look at it this way, it's a chance to boost our bands popularity. It'll be okay. We can do this."
Chase took a couple deep breaths, and she was fine. "Okay, okay. I think I'm fine now. Yeah, we can do this." She smiled at the girls, and they smiled back. They finished setiing up their stuff, and tested the mic. "Hey guys!" Maddi said, and the whole diner looked at her.
She blushed and and turned around, whispering. "I think the mics turned on" and walked off the stage. Chase ran up and said into the mic "Just a minute guys, just getting a few things settled before we start the show." She walked off and stood off to the side, beside Maddi and Katie.
"You guys ready?" Maddi said, looking at the girls. Chase and Katie nodded. They all looked at each other, ready for their first actual show. They had done a couple shows in their old town, butr almost nobody showed up, and they were mostly in parking lots and sidewalks.
Chase just whispered "remember the song order" and walked on the stage to introduce the band. "Hey guys! Thanks so much for coming our here to hear us, we really appreciate it. I'm Chase, I play the bass. Maddi's our guitarist and Katie's on the drums, while we all sing. We mostly do Pop and Alternative, with a little Rock. Thanks again for coming out to see us. We're the Rejects, and enjoy the show!"
She walked overt to her spot and picked up her bass, while the other girls got settled. They all gave each other one last look before Maddi strummed her guitar and talked in the mic. "Hey guys! Our first song is Alone Together by Fall Out Boy." Her, Katie, and Chase all sang the first verse together:

This is the road to ruin, and we're starting at the end.
