"So, mall or Target first?" Maddi asked as she drive down the main highway in LA. "Mall!" "Target!" Katie and Chase both yelled at the same time. They all laughed, the wind from the open car windows blowing through their hair.

"Okay. Mall first then Target on the way back?" Maddi smiled and shook her head at her friends excitement for the stores. They had all gotten money from the boys to go shopping and get them some clothes. They were handling the burning down of their apartment quite well, since they had only been there for a little over a month

The guys had offered to let them borrow their instruments, but the girls denied. They decided to stop by the diner on their way home and explain the situation to the hostess.

Maddi pulled up in the parking lot, parking the car. "Where to first?" She said, pulling the key out of the ignition. Katie and Chase both grinned and replied, "Hot Topic". Maddi laughed and got out of the car, walking to the mall entrance.

They all quickly found the store by using a mall map. Katie nodded her head to the Pierce The Veil song playing throughout the store. Maddi went straight over to the jeans, while Chase and Katie started picking out shirts. All three girls were the same size, so they typically shared t-shirts and sometimes jeans.

They left the store with 4 shirts each, and 3 pairs of jeans. They all agreed to just share clothes until they had enough money to completely replenish their wardrobe.

They walked around the mall for a little while longer, pucking up a couple shirts and pants here and there. They weren't really worried about shoes, since they always wore their Vans where ever they went.

They had just stepped outside the mall and were walking back to the car when Maddi's phone buzzed.

Luke: What do you guys think about a cook out tonight? Calum can make a mean burger :-)

Maddi looked down at her phone and laughed. The house the guys stayed at was ocean-front, and they had their own private beach. They had gotten there so late yesterday the girls hadn't had a chance to check it out.

"Hey, what do you guys think about a cookout tonight? Luke said Calum was making burgers." Maddi said, hovering her thumbs over her keyboard. Chase nodded her head, and Katie responded with a "That's fine."

Maddi quickly typed a response and slid her phone back in her pocket, climbing in the passenger seat of the car while Katie was in the drivers seat.

They stepped into the doorway, their hands loaded with bags from various stores. "THEY'RE BACK! HIDE THE CAKE!" Ashton screamed as he ran into the foyer. Katie raised an eyebrow at him. "Did you say there was cake?" His cheeks turned crimson as he stuttered. "Uh, n-no. I didn't know you guys were in the house, I, uh, you know cake, right? Luke and Calum are cake!" he smiled sheepishly as Luke walked in.

"I heard my name." He said, taking some of the bags from the girls. "Luke, are you cheating on me with Calum?" Maddi asked, sending a smirk towards Ashton. Luke feigned surprised and placed a hand over his chest. "Me?! I would never!" Maddi laughed and brushed past him, shaking her head. "You guys are idiots." She reached the stairs and looked back at Ashton. "By the way, make sure its not yellow cake. I don't like it."

"These are by far, the best burgers I've ever had." Chase said. Turns out, there was cake, it was chocolate and said Congratulations!! On it, whatever that meant.

"So, guys, I guess you would like to know why we got you a cake this fine evening, and why it says congratulations on it." Calum said, sitting up and clasping his hands together. "That'd be nice." Chase said, sipping from her Coke can. It was dusk, and the sun was just setting against the ocean. The sky was clear, and stars were just coming out. They all sat on blankets and logs around a fire pit, eating and joking around.
