WE ARE ON A MISSION IN LAGOS. "All right, what do you see?" I say into the comms. Wanda adds sugar to her coffee and stirs it. "Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target." She looks around. "There's an ATM in the south corner, which means.." I say but Wanda finishes my sentence for me. "Cameras." She finishes. "Both cross streets are one way." I state. "So, compromise escape routes." She sips her coffee. "Means our guy doesn't care about being seen, he isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. You see that Ranger Rover halfway up the block?" I ask. "Yeah, the red one? It's cute." She says, sipping her coffee again. Natasha sat two tables from Wanda. "It's also bullet proof, which means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us." Natasha says. "You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?" The brunette says. "Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature." Natasha replies. "Anyone tell you your a little paranoid?" Sam retorts from the comms. I sigh. "Not to my face, why? Did you hear something?" Natasha smirks. "Eyes on target, folks. This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him." I say to the others. "If he sees us coming that won't be a problem. He kind of hates us." Sam says. A garbage truck pushes its way through traffic, with no regard to pedestrians or other vehicles. "Sam, see that garbage truck? Tag it." I say. From the back of Sam's falcon jet pack, a small drone, launches and flies down to the garbage truck. "Give me x-ray." Sam says to the drone. "That truck's loaded for max weight. And the driver's armed." Sam says. "It's a battering ram." Natasha states. "Go now." I say. "What?" Wanda says. "He's not hitting the police." I say. A man is sitting in the guard station. He looks over as the garbage truck is coming towards the gate. The driver jumps out, and the truck slams into the gateway. Two trucks rush into the compound through the newly-made entrance. Soldiers in black armor emerge from the trucks, firing their rifles around the courtyard. Four soldiers fire gas canisters into the building. Soldiers wearing gas masks enter.
I arrive and takes out several of the soldiers. "Body armor, AR-15's. I make seven hostiles." I say to the other. Sam flies in and up to a rooftop, spinning and using his wings to block gunfire. He takes out two soldiers. "I make 5." Sam says. Wanda arrives and flies over the rooftop and into the courtyard, blocking fire with her powers. She takes control of one soldier and lifts him upward. "Sam." She says. Sam glides down from the rooftop, catching the soldiers on one of his wings. "Four." He says. Sam's drone flies by, scanning the inside of the building. "Rumlow's on the third floor." I say. "Wanda, just like we practiced." I say to her. "What about the gas?" She asks. "Get it out." I say. Wanda uses her powers to lift me up and through the window. I grab a soldier and pulls off their gas mask. Rumlow is inside. He punches down the door. He knocks aside a technician and enters a room with a container labeled "bio-hazard." "Pack it up." Rumlow says. In another area, I'm behind a pillar. I throw my shield, and it bounces off the soldier and back to me. Meanwhile, Wanda is now using her powers to remove the gas from the building. Sam is exchanging fire with several soldiers. Rumlow walks outside onto a balcony and sees that the team is here. "He's here." He says. Inside the building, Steve sees the vial missing. "Rumlow has a biological weapon." I say. Natasha is riding in on a motorcycle. "I'm on it." She says. She jumps off the motorcycle and it skids toward a soldier. She takes out soldiers through hand-to-hand combat. Rumlow comes up behind her and grabs her collar, dragging her onto an armored vehicle. She electrocutes him. "I don't work like that no more." He says. He throws her through the roof hatch into an armored vehicle, drops in a grenade, and shuts the hatch. "Fire in the hole!" He says. "No!" A mercenary says. Natasha takes out the soldiers inside, then grabs one to shield herself from the grenade. The doors blow open and she is thrown out. I run out onto the balcony and spot Rumlow. "Sam. He's in an AFV heading north." I say. Inside the AFV, Rumlow secures the biological weapon and hands it to a soldier. "Take this to the airstrip. We're not gonna outrun them. Lose the truck." He states. The truck crashes into a nearby structure and Rumlow and the soldiers emerge. "Where are you going to meet us?" A mercenary asks. "I'm not." Rumlow says. Sam lands on the roof of a structure. He scans the area with his goggles. "I got four, they're splitting up." He says. Natasha rides through the crowd, back on her motorcycle. She abandons it again and runs across the hoods of cars, in pursuit. "I got the two on the left." Natasha says. I'm also running across cars. I spot a vest in the middle of a crowd. "They ditched their gear. It's a shell game now. One of them has the payload." I say. Someone throws a bomb at me. It sticks on my shield. I throw it in the air and the bomb detonates safely away from citizens. Rumlow comes up behind me and punches me in the back. "There you are, you son of a bitch. I've been waiting for this!" Rumlow says as if he is a excited kid on Christmas who's been waiting for his presents. Meanwhile, Sam is still chasing the other mercenaries. Sam flies up and takes out his two, then searches their bags for the payload. "He doesn't have it. I'm empty." Sam says. "Out of the way!" Natasha says. She tackles one soldier and engages him in combat. When the other soldier arrives, she hurls a basket at him to distract him. She uses her skills to fight them and ends up face-to-face with one soldier. They point their guns at each other. A moment passes. Then, the other soldier produces the vial. "Drop it, or I'll drop this. Drop it!" The other soldier says. "He'll do it!" The first soldier says. Redwing descends and fires at the soldier with the vial. He drops, and in the moment of distraction, Natasha fires at the other soldier, then catches the falling vial. "Payload secure. Thanks Sam." She says. "Don't thank me.." Sam says. "I'm not thanking that thing." She replies. "His name is Red Wing." He says. "I'm still not thanking it." She says sassily. "He's cute. Go ahead, pet him." Sam responds. Me and Rumlow are still fighting, neither of us seeming to have the upper hand. "Cmon!" I hear him say. Rumlow pins me to a building and extends a blade from one of his gauntlets. "This is for dropping a building on my face." He hisses at me. I grab Rumlow's arm and pulls the gauntlet off, only for Rumlow to reveal another knife. But I best him. Defeated, on his knees, Rumlow removes his mask, revealing a scarred face. "I think I look pretty good, all things considered." He says before I can even get out a comment. "Who's your buyer?" I ask. "You know, he knew you. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky." He says, ignoring my question. I was caught off guard. "What did you just say?" I gasp. "He remembered you. I was there. He got all weepy about it. Till they put his brain back in a blender. He wanted you to know something. He said to me, ''Please tell Rogers. When you've gotta go, you gotta go.'' And your coming with me!" He smirks. He activates his bomb vest and Steve flinches as Rumlow's armor ignites, but Wanda keeps the blast contained around Rumlow who grimaces in agony. She lifts him into the air before she loses control, and the explosion finally blossoms, devastating entire floors of a nearby office building. Wanda sees what happened and is scarred by it. Natasha gasps and runs to her. Hugging her. "Oh my.." I stare up. "Sam... we need Fire and Rescue. On the south side of the building. We gotta get up there." I say as Natasha comforts Wanda. I had flashbacks of me and Bucky before I took the serum.
"Bucky cmon! There are men laying down their lives. I got no right to do any less than them. That's what you don't understand. This isn't about me." I said to him. I had health issues. He was right to worry about me. But I hadn't cared.
"Right. Cause you got nothing to prove?" Bucky retorts.
