I did not just bought the last minute plane tickets. I did not just do that. The printer started to sound weirdly, before two papers started to print out next to my desk. Holy shit, I did. I was actually leaving Seattle in just a couple of hours. This was just the second day at my job, my third day in Seattle and I was already leaving. The feeling of excitement and luck was almost new to me. I hadn't really felt that since.. Well since I came back home from Iraq. And it felt good, I felt good.

"San Francisco?"

I looked up, and met the blondes eyes. I almost sighed. She was literally trying to have my attention since the first minute I arrived to work. I almost felt sorry for her.
She took the papers from the printer, looking down at them as she sat down at her desk.

"Business or pleasure?" she asked before she licked her braces on her teethes.

I took the tickets away from her, before putting them in my file I had my notes in.

"Both" I answered.

"Girlfriend?"

I sighed and laid back in my seat as I turned it to her before locking my eyes with hers.

"Curious?" I asked her back.

She laughed and played with her feets as they were hanging down from the desk, not reaching the ground.

"A little. You seem more interesting then your friend"

We both looked over at Louis. I laughed before turning my head back to her.

"How nice of you to say, thank you"

She smiled, and I turned my seat back to my desk. I got back to work. The girl remained silent, and I saw her head fell down as she looked at her feets. Was she sad I didn't say anything more? I rolled my eyes as I sighed.

"What's your name?" I asked her, not looking at her.

"Mackenzie" she answered happily, "your name is Harry, right?" I nodded as an answer.

"Well okay Mackenzie, nice chat. I'm sorry but I have a business meeting with my less interesting friend, Louis" I said as I raised up from the seat and smiled slightly at her and she giggled.

She was nice, I guess. I hurried up to the next side of the room. Louis was turned with his back facing me, as he talked to the girl working beside him.

"Charmer, isn't he?" I said as I putted my both hands at Louis shoulders and he jumped of the sudden voice behind him. He turned his seat to face me and I smirked as the girl Louis talked with giggled.

"Good mood?" Louis asked laughing.

"I bought tickets" Louis frowned as he moved in his seat, "Plane tickets to San Francisco" I continued and he gaped.

"No way" he cheered.

"Yes way" I laughed, "we are leaving after work".

What am I doing? I watched the buildings pass away as the taxi drove fast to the airport. I didn't move an inch, still surprised and confused about what I actually was going to do. Louis talked happily with the driver as he was settled down at the seat beside him, while I was sitting in the back. Silent. Soon were we on the airport and I couldn't do more then take my backpack and be pushed inside the airport by Louis. I remained silent during the next half hour. We were soon sitting down at a bench, waiting for the plane. My hand were shaking and I couldn't focus on anything Louis said. I couldn't do this.

"Uhm.. Louis" I said carefully as he was in the middle of telling me something I didn't even listen to. He stopped, and nodded his head.

"Yeah?"

"I..I changed my mind" I swallowed hard and patted my hand on my knee.

Louis happy face started slowly to fade, as his serious gaze met mine.

"You're not serious, are you?" I didn't answer, and I groan left Louis lips, "is it because we are taking a plane?" I wished it was so, but a hour plane didn't really scare me that much. I remained silent, but soon shooked my head. Louis rolled his eyes in annoyance "For fuck's sake Harry!" his voice was angry as he stared at me in disbelief, "you're unbelievable"

"I'm sorry, I just.."

"You just what?" Louis pushed, "Seriously, Harry.." he sighed, "well okay, your fucking choice. You just bought two tickets for us to San Francisco that weren't even that cheap. But okay, let's go home" he raised up, "your money, I don't care"

He took his backpack and started to walk away. I looked after him, as I felt some kind of guilt and disappointment inside of me. Why couldn't I just fucking go on the plane? What was so hard? But as I tried to rise up from the bench to actually leave, I couldn't. It was like I got stuck on the bench because of so much excitement I really felt for going to San Francisco. So I just sat there, confused about what I was supposed to do, and watching Louis leave. He started to slow down as he didn't felt my presence behind him, and stopped before turning around.

"Well?" he asked.

"I'm just scared of what I can loose, leaving now" I said as he was walking back to me, "and as more I think about it, I know it's pretty much"

Louis sighed as he knelt down in front of me.

"Stop thinking about it then, okay?" he begged, "yes, you will loose some things because of this. But you will loose just as important things if you never leave either" he said and I looked at him before I sighed and laid back with my back on the wall, "So, we are not returning home?" he asked and I smiled a bit as an answer. He smirked and as he raised up he patted my chin, "good boy" he jokingly said before sitting down beside me again.

Well on the plane, I was sitting next to the window, as always probably. Louis himself talked to the old man beside him, which didn't surprise me because Louis talked to everyone. He loved socializing, and if I never met him and survived my mission I would probably be a dead person in a living body by now. Because I would not have the same need to talk with others because I would be unhappy anyway. I would not meet new women, or getting drunk because that wouldn't even be necessary. At least he could bring some life to my days by taking me out to pubs and meeting new people. If not him, I don't know how I would survive.
Never in my life did a flight pass so fast, and the hour in the air felt more like fifteen minutes before we landed. As I hold my backpack, I stepped out from the plane at the steps and was met by a warm wind blowing my hair away from my face. A smile appeared on my lips at the feeling of new life in my wains as I breathed in the San Francisco air.

"So, what's the date today Harry?" Louis asked as we were about to walk out from the airport. I looked over at him as he suddenly stopped. Before I even could say anything he disappeared into a small shop, and only ten seconds later came out with a San Francisco map and pen in his left hand, "Hm?" he said as he still waited for an answer.

"Uhm.. August 25th" I slowly answered as I watched his moves. Louis took the pen and started to write down something at the map while I looked at him with a frown.

"..August 25th..two..thousand..s..even" he spoke as he wrote down.

"What's that for?" I laughed as we continued walking after Louis putted down the map in his bag.

"To remember the date we started to search after your miracle"
