I believe that everything happens for a reason, but what happened for the next seven minutes and thirty second was happening because of nothing else, but me. Because of the fool, idiot and arsehole that I was.

It was like two strong hands pushed me away from Lexi, separating our lips. What it actually was, was my realization hitting me like a truck.

''What the fuck is going on?!'', Louis repeated, his body hurrying over the lawn with Amber running after him, holding tightly the brown leash that was stuck in the Rottweiler's collar.

''Louis'', my lips managed to say, as for begging for rescue.

But then again, he was the one that caught me.

''It's not what it looks like'', I can't believe I said that.

''What a cliché thing to say you idiot, but I know exactly what I saw!''.

''You!'', Amber screamed right after, her finger pointing at me, ''Get away from her!''.

The night may had been one of the darkest but the anger was glowing in both of their eyes. Probably just as much as the panic and guilt in my own green ones.

''I-I'', not a single word managed to roll out of my tongue, as I carefully began crawling backwards on the roof.

Louis was faster than Amber, and he was soon found climbing the ladder and my eyes fell on Lexi for a split second. A feeling of disbelief made me look away as her empty eyes met mine. She didn't see the problem. She just didn't see it.

''I'm coming down!'', my lips suddenly moved and I realized I yelled towards Louis.

''Now!'', Louis yelled back, his voice hoarse by anger.

And then, a touch was felt on my hand.

''Don't''.

I looked back again. Lexi spoke, and I froze. Her soft eyes looked into mine as she repeated the word once again.

''Don't''.

''Lexi, stop it!'', her sister screamed from the lawn under us, and Lexi immediately turned around with her jaws tightening.

''Stop screaming Amber, you will wake everyone up!'', she defended herself in a loud whisper, sitting up to look down at her sister.

''Lexi, for fuck sake, move away from him!''.

''Since when do you have the fucking right to tell me what do to?'', and suddenly, even Lexi was yelling.

''Since you were born, I am your sister!'', Amber replied, ''Louis get her down here''.

''Fuck no!'', Lexi screamed, and her hand grasped mine and I begged her to let it go, even though not a single word left my lips, ''You left your family miserable, you didn't want to help or take care of anything we were suffering with! You left, you don't care, stop pretending you do!''.

Not a word more left the lawn, as Amber looked at her sister with something flashing in her eyes reminding of guilt but also pain. Two sentences, and Amber was numb.

''Lexi'', I whispered and her shoulders fell of the sound of my voice, ''You should listen to your sister''.

Her blue eyes didn't meet mine again. She didn't look at me. She knew I wasn't going to try to fight her sister with her. She knew I wasn't going to fight for her.

Her hand leaving mine, the touch no longer felt, was replaced with a feeling of disappointment in no one else than myself. This was not how it all was supposed to go. Not at all.
