~Chapter 14 David's Distraction Plan

David POV

We been in the van for about seven minutes now. I was now in deep thought about what I had to do once we got there at the warehouse. If I mess this up I could be killed, I need to make up my own plan.

Vanoss said I needed to make a distraction, right. I think he already knows I could get shot on site no matter who I was. Afterall, I would be in their territory and I don't think they go kindly to strangers.

So what if I made myself less of a threat, by announcing a much bigger threat. What couldn't be a bigger threat than the BBS squad itself. It could be a risky play on my part but it could be crazy enough to work.

What about the guard in the inside of the building. I might be able to pull off the same trick but since they only gave me a knife. I need to find a way to get him close enough to me so I shank him without no problem.

I could get shot if I burst through the door but it's the only shot I got of getting in there. All I can do is hope for the best and see how it goes. I noticed that the van had suddenly stopped moving.

I perk up and saw the guys just exiting the van. I quickly followed after them and stood beside Squeaker. "David, come here real quick, I need to give you something before you go" Vanoss, the leader of the group, said.

I quick ran up to him to see what he wanted. He then pulled out some small object and held it up to me. I just raised an eyebrow at him, "what is this for.." I asked while reluctantly grabbing it from his hand.

I waited for an answer from him, I was starting to understand what it was but still looked up at him to explain. "It's an earpiece, just put it in your ear and all you have to do is press the button on the side to talk to us, press it a second time if you want to deactivate it" Vanoss explained it so well that I started to feel a bit stupid. I examined it seeing the button, I then put the earpiece into my right ear and looked to Vanoss for directions.

He gave me this look then turned to look at the others. "Everyone get into your positions" Vanoss commanded. Soon, two of the guys rush up the mountain while Wildcat stood next to me and another guy stood next to Vanoss.

I couldn't remember what they called him but something was definitely off about him. Maybe it was just the mask that made me think he was just staring into my soul. I moved closer to Wildcat, almost hiding behind him.

Soon enough, I was pulled away from the two men. "Come on, we have to get into our position" Wildcat commented. I nodded subconsciously, while my mind was somewhere else.

As Wildcat pulled me along, I turned my head to look behind me. I don't know if it was real time or things just felt like they were going in slow motion. It looked like the two were just staring at me and Wildcat as we went off.

I turned away and slipped out of Wildcat's grasp, I speed walked in front of him. Wildcat soon put his hand on my shoulder to stop me from walking. I glanced at him and soon a small glance turned into a long moment of just staring.

For some reason, I felt my face get hot and I quickly looked away, hiding my face from him. "David.." Wildcat muttered and I perked up at him to listen. Wildcat stared at me for a moment as if thinking of something.

He sighed, putting his hands on both my shoulders. "David, are you sure you're ready for this..." Wildcat questioned. I stared at him for a second, suddenly feeling unsure about this whole thing.

My mind started to ramble, what if I mess up, what if after this..they'll kill me cause I have nothing else to offer for them, I'm a useless mess. I began to shake, what am I going to do. "David.." Wildcat whispered to get my attention since I was lost in thought.

I quickly looked back up at him since my eyes somehow went to the floor. "Mmh" I mumbled, questioning him silently, nodding my head subconsciously again. "...Wildcat.....do ye, trust me" I asked.

Wildcat paused, looking at me as if wondering if I was serious. He crossed his arms and looked away from me. "Well.." I questioned, waiting for a response.

Wildcat looked back at me and he seemed to start to look at the floor. He was trying to avoid my question which kinda upset me. I heard him whisper something but I couldn't hear what he said, "what was that..." I asked.

He slowly moved his gaze back up and into my eyes. He sighed, ".....I trust you.." Wildcat muttered to me. I sorta smiled at this, although it took him a long time to say it.

I appreciated it, "..okay, so here's my plan...." I said. I walked up closer to him and lead down closer to his ear. After I explained to him the plan I had in mind, I backed up and waited for him to respond.

He chuckled, "you are one crazy motherfucker if you think that's going to work" Wildcat replied. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, "well, if I have ye to help me out with this then everything should go fine" I answered. "Yeah, everything should go fine as long as Basically and Squeaker don't shoot you in the head" Wildcat joked.

I laughed nervously, "yeah, yeah...that's why I need ye to trust me..so will ye help me with this plan or not" I asked. Wildcat chuckled again, "sure thing, just don't do anything you will regret" Wildcat threatened. I nodded my head in understanding, well, I guess it's time.
