Epilogue v.2

3rd person

It has been only been hours since Yoongi found out about the truth. Jennie walks out of the sanctuary red in the face from humiliation and regrets with her tears still streaming down her already tear-stained cheeks.

Instead of heading straight back to her dorm, instead, Jennie takes a different route to the hotel where her cousin is staying at.

"What have you done, Jennie?!" A loud voice boomed across the four corners of the hotel room that Eunbi has been staying at.

Her cousin sat there in silence, eyes on her quivering hands as tears continue to pour down her cheeks no matter how hard she tried to stop them. Jennie told her cousin about what happened in the sanctuary with Yoongi.

Eunbi sits down right next to her cousin, grabbing her two cold hands, "You have to go back and tell him that it's not true — that it's not you who is behind all of this!"

"And what do I tell him after that?!" Jennie's head turns to her as she raised her voice. "What am I going to tell him if he asks me who the traitor is?!"

Eunbi fell silent at what she said.

"Look, I took the risk and this is where it got me," Jennie runs her hand through her hair. "I told him that it was me — that it was me who was behind everything that happened. I admitted to it and there is no turning back."

Eunbi begins to feel emotional as well, tears forming, "He's going to hate you —"

"— He already hates me."

"He's f*cking in love with you!" Eunbi exclaims, tears slowly falling down her cheeks. Her response surprised Jennie but she knew that there wouldn't be a chance anymore after what happened earlier.

"But he wants you," Jennie gives her a bitter smile.

Eunbi cannot take it — she cannot see her cousin in pain like this. Jennie is suffering and it is all because of her. 

"I'm going to talk to him," She tells Jennie, her grip on her cousin's hands tightening. "I'm going to explain to him everything. You don't deserve this, Jen, you deserve all the love that you want and I cannot take that away from you."

"You're not taking anything away from me, Eunbi."

Her brows knit together, "No — you — you deserve to be happy."

Jennie's lips slowly turn into a frown at what her cousin is suggesting that she is going to do, "And what do you think you are suggesting to do? Tell him the truth? Yeah, right. You're suggesting on confessing everything that you did just to save me?"

"It's better than what you did," Eunbi argues. "I'm going to tell him that it was me — that you lied to save me."

Jennie shakes her head in response, "He's going to hate you. He already wants nothing to do with me, Eunbi, it's better that you end up with him rather than with me. he's already forced to be married to me, I can't force him to love me too."

Eunbi wants to disagree, she wants to yell at her cousin for giving up so quickly. She knew that Jennie cared for her but she didn't know that she would take the blame just to save her. Eunbi did what she did because she wants to help Yoongi realize that it's not her he loves, it's Jennie but it took a different turn. She knew it was selfish but she had to wake Yoongi up and help him realize the truth.

She was taken out of her thoughts when Jennie turns around to face her, holding her hands in return. Jennie tries her best to smile at her cousin.

"Take care of him for me, okay?"

This was it, Jennie is finally letting go. She's giving up. There was nothing else that Eunbi can do if Yoongi won't even listen to her. Giving her cousin a smile in return, tears trickle down her cheeks.

"I'll try."

In the end, the world never knew that Min — Kim Jennie — was once secretly married to an idol.
