"Oh my!" Jennie's mother exclaimed. "Namjoon? Dear, are you alright? Something wrong with the champagne?"
The man shook his head, "No, I—"
"Let me just get someone to clean this up," Jennie's mother finally left the scene to go find someone who can help them with the shattered glass.
Yoongi's mother, on the other hand, was surprised at the young couple's reaction with what she said.
"Oh, did Jennie and Yoongi not tell you all about their marriage?" Mrs. Min asked innocently.
Their members stayed silent, making her realize what she had done.
"Mom," Yoongi muttered. "Can you please...?"
Mrs. Min took this as a hint, "Oh! Right, well then, I'll leave you kids to sort this one out."
They stared at the woman as she finally walked away from them.
Silence took over.
Even though the whole place is filled with people, this corner of the room is awfully quiet, the noise echoing from the other guests not far away.
"Is there anything else you want to tell us other than you're married?" Jisoo crossed her arms.
Both Jennie and Yoongi sighed, looking at each other, knowing that they have no choice but to tell them the truth.
"Well...?" Seokjin began to tap his foot on the marble floor. "We're all waiting for an explanation."
Yoongi nodded, "Yes, you all deserve one."
"And we'll tell you," Jennie added.
"It's true, what my mom said," Yoongi began. "Jennie and I are married, we lied about being in a relationship because we didn't want to tell you about our marriage."
"What? But why?" Chaeyoung asked. "What's the difference? You guys are still together."
Jennie shook her head, "We, we aren't really together in terms of actually having feelings for each other."
This made the others even more confused.
"Then why would you guys get married?" Hoseok asked. "To the point that even your parents know about it."
"Because they were the ones who planned it in the first place," Yoongi snapped.
They all stared at him.
Jennie, out of distress, began fiddling with her wedding finger, listening to her husband's every word as he shared the truth.
"We were set up in an arranged marriage," Yoongi said. "Our families wanted to merge and have been friends ever since we were children, our families thought that we would be a great match."
