Sorry for any mistakes.

It seemed like we waited forever, one minute she was pacing the next she was leaning up against me rocking her hips slightly she was trying to be brave but her facial expressions were telling me other things she was in a lot of pain.

"Dare." She squealed clutching her little bump.

"It's alright I've got you." I said rubbing her back again.

"Miss Daley." The nurse called,

I bit my tongue trying not to be nasty about the wait but we finally got to see someone obviously we were referred to a midwife who confirmed she was in premature labour I was scared what if there's something wrong with the baby?

"It's too early." She sobbed.

"Have you been stressed lately sweetheart?"

"Her temper has been pretty bad."

"It says in your notes you took a blow to your abdomen when you were a couple months pregnant?"

"Yeah she did."

"I going to do an ultra sound to check on baby and run some more tests it shouldn't take long."

Sam was laying on her side burying her head into my bicep as I sat in the chair next to her bed, she whimpered every so often I just tried my best to make her comfortable. The tests and scan came back all clear and it was scary to think that our baby was going to be here soon.

"How's the pain?"

"Still the same." She sighed,

"You ain't got nothing to worry about you hear me? She's just impatient like her mama."

She smiled softly, "Im glad you know how to cheer me up."

"Ow." She groaned clenching her eyes shut.

"Just breath Sam."

Sam's p.o.v

I laid my head back doing my breathing and just trying to relax and I was really proud of daryl he'd never done anything like this before but he was right there by my side comforting me, rubbing my bump, holding my hand and kissing my head every so often. It was like he just knew how to help.

"Shall we take a look?" The midwife smiled.

Obviously someone poking around in your lower region isn't the most comfortable, she told me I was about 5 cm dilated and was asking me how the pain was and if I wanted any pain relief and honestly I just wanted our baby to arrive safely.

"There's no need to panic baby seems happy and your moving along nicely, is this your first?"

"Yeah and last." I giggled,

"Aw I remember saying that and I ended up having two more ,there a joy to have until they get to the age they want money." She laughed,

"Gonna make sure this one gets everything she needs." Daryl said kissing my hand.

"You've got a good man there."

I looked over at him with a smile and I could see he was a little nervous but he looked happy, I think he's more excited than me to be honest. He's the one who insisted on decorating the nursery I'm glad he moved in with me.

"Well any problems or you feel something's not right I'll be just round the corner."

As soon as she left Daryl was a little more comfortable, "You alright?" I said.

"Yeah I'm fine how you feeling?"

"I'm okay at the moment."

He pulled his chair closer to the bed so he was sitting facing me, his kissed my little bump and then my hand I couldn't help my run my fingers through his hair causing little moans to escape his mouth.

"I thought I was supposed to be comforting you?"

"You are just by being beside me is enough."

I removed my hand from his hair and clutched the sheets as a contraction came through I felt I was coping with the pain well I'm pretty good with pain as long as Daryl's by my side that's all I need.

"You decided what name we're gonna give her?"

"Why do I gotta decide?" I laughed.

"Because if I chose its be something like Betty." He smirked,

"No it wouldn't, grab the baby book and have a look."

I watched as he fumbled around in the bag and pulled out the baby book he brought, he isn't a fan of reading but I've caught him look at this on more than one occasion and he wouldn't admit to it but I know he's interested.

"What about Isabelle?"

"I knew you'd chose that one, you've circled it in the book."

"I think it'd suit her, goes with my surname."

"Isabelle Dixon yeah it does your good at this Daddy thing." I smiled.

A couple hours later...

"Daryl." I groaned tapping his shoulder,

"What's the matter?" He yawned rubbing his eyes,

"I think I gotta push." I whimpered.

He hesitated a first before heading to reception to find a midwife, he arrived back assuring me someone would be by as soon as possible. But I knew this baby was coming and I was shitting myself. We're gonna be parents.

"Daryl..." I cried into his neck.

"Your gonna be fine alright baby your doing really well." He mumbled rubbing the bottom of my back.

"I gotta push I can't wait."

"Do what you gotta do."

I bunched up Daryl's shirt in my hands and pushed as hard as I could,Daryl was handling this really well he looked underneath me to check everything and then came back to me comforting me as another contraction came through.

"Fuck."

He kissed my temple and before we knew it the midwife was here helping me through the last part of my labour, she seemed really pleased about how well Id done and was surprised Daryl knew what to do so was I to be honest.

"Daryl." I squeaked resting my head on his shoulder.

"One more push Sam." He whispered placing a kiss on my neck.

So at 21:24pm weighing 5lb5oz our little girl Isabelle Dixon entered the world, Daryls face lit up when he heard her cries for the first time, the midwife asked him to cut the umbilical cord and he was more than happy to and then before I knew it he had her cradled in his large muscly arms shushing her.

"Hey baby girl." He smiled. "Your one lucky girl coz daddy gonna spoil you rotten."

"He's a natural." The midwife smiled cleaning me up.

"I'm proud of him." I whispered.

She smiled at me again, "He's got a heart of gold I knew he was going to be a good man the day he was born."

"What do you mean?"

"I was his mothers midwife too."

A smile spread across my face this moment wasn't just special for us it was special for her too. She soon finished cleaning me up and left us to bond with Izzy which Daryl has now nicknamed her.

"Here's yah mama." He whispered passing her to me.

"She's got your eyes Dare."

"You think so?"

"Yeah."

"Well it looks like she's gonna have blonde hair too."

"She's defiantly a spit of you Dare."

"Poor her." He smirked,

"No, she's beautiful." I smiled.
