"I thought, I told you not to come here." Lindsey held onto the door handle, staring at Kristen, who didn't look fazed at all.

"Just let me through, we can sit down and talk about it." She said, laying a hand on Lindsey's shoulder, but he shrugged it off and the forced smile on Kristen's face faded. "I'm not signing any goddamn papers, Lindsey."

"Yes, you are." He folded his arms over his chest. "I don't know what else you want me to say. I'm done. It took me long enough, but I want out of this circus."

"Can we speak somewhere privately?" Kristen asked, seeing Mick passing by.

"I've got nothing to hide. They're my friends and they know pretty much everything about me and what's going on in my life." Lindsey shrugged, although, he truly didn't want anyone to hear about his marriage falling apart. He just hoped it would change Kristen's mind and she would leave.

"If you insist." A sly smile returned to her face and her voice grew a bit louder. "I know, you think fucking that old whore right now is equal to being in love with her, but it's not. You two probably had a bit too much to drink one night, reminisced and fell into your old pattern, but that's going to go away as soon this is wrapped up, Lindsey. Can you honestly tell me, you love her? That she's the woman you want to leave me for? Do you truly believe she loves you enough to stay as soon as you hit some sort of an obstacle, have an argument?"

"Do not disrespect Stevie." Lindsey warned. "She's done absolutely nothing wrong to you. You knew she and I were together, when you started our relationship based on lies, when you used me. You're the homewrecker, not her."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Forgive me for being able to give you everything she can't!"

"What are you talking about!" Lindsey yelled out. "Just because you lied to me about being on birth control and got pregnant again, that doesn't make you somehow better. And let me remind you once more, Stevie and I do have a son together."

"Right, that's what I mean, she can no longer give you that." One hand on her hip, she pointed a finger at Lindsey. "What is wrong with you? I'm every aging rockstar's trophy wife dream! Look at me! Yet, you can't stop going back to that-"

"Shut up." Lindsey cut her off. "And is being a trophy wife what you want? If you ask me, that's pathetic. You just admitted that there never have been any genuine feelings between us. There's never been love. I married you, because I thought it was the right thing to do. You married me, because you wanted to be set for life. Guess what, turns out that our marriage has been one of the biggest mistakes in my life!" He saw her opening her mouth to speak, but Lindsey just continued on. "And don't try to lie your way out. You just enjoy the luxurious lifestyle I've provided you with. Well, you don't have to worry. The millions of dollars aren't going anywhere, since you are the mother of my children, I do want what's best for them, so I'm not about to kick you out of the house, I'm not about to stop paying for everything. You can have it, I don't want it. I want the woman, whom I've been in love with since I was 16 years old. Yes, we argue, yes, we get on each other's nerves, yes, sometimes we can't stand looking at each other, but that's real. We fight, because we love. But that's not something I expect you to understand." Lindsey exhaled heavily, feeling as if he had said all of that holding his breath. "So, don't come around here again, don't call, don't- just don't, stop."

Things clearly did not go to Kristen's plan. Aware that whoever was in the house, likely heard every single word, she felt humiliated. Taking her sunglasses off the top of her head, she rested them on the bridge of her nose and marched back to her car, which Lindsey had paid for as well.

As soon as he had closed the door, Lindsey went to look for Stevie. He checked their recording room, but she wasn't there. Mick simply said, upstairs, so that was were Lindsey headed. Without thinking to knock, Lindsey twisted the doorknob, but the door didn't budge.

"Steph? Let me in, baby."

"Go away, Lindsey." Came her weak reply.

"There's nowhere else I'd rather be right now than with you. Come on, Stevie, let me in."

"I said, go away." Stevie repeated herself.

Lindsey tried for several minutes longer, but eventually, she stopped responding to his pleas and he slid down the wall to the floor. This was not how he had imagined things were going to go.
