Chapter Six: Questioned Mask

"Hm" Tsunade says opening her eyes as she rummages through a box with papers, then her eyes light up like she spotted something. I see her read the paper as more curiosity fills me, "Asami you got the top score" She said. I smirk as Tsunade just sits there, I had to hold myself back from bragging. Then my eyes shift to Sasuke, he just sat there with his eyes closed just grinning.
"Anyways, you both are dimissed hurry back to class" she says as I get up, Sasuke and I thank Tsunade and he leaves first "How rude you didn't wait for me?" I said wearing a fake sad look behind my mask. "I don't like waiting" Sasuke said shortly, Sasuke was now next to me as he lead the way back to the class.
"Hey can I ask you something?" Sasuke said as I looked at him giving him a side glance, Sasuke's head was facing forward but his eyes met mine. "Sure" I said simply as he sighed, "Why do you wear that mask?" He says, I heard curiosity in his voice. I sighed looking back in front of me, "I like to keep my identity secret" I said fake smiling through the thick cloth covering half my face.
"I'd like to see you without the mask" I heard him say quietly, "Hn" I said copying him. I felt him staring at me, I slid my hand up to my mask, I pulled it down revealing my nose. "Does this fill your curiosity for now?" I said as I look at him fully facing him now. I let him observe my nose, soon I pulled my mask back over my nose.
"Now I want to see more?" I heard him whine as I just fake giggled again, "too bad" I said smirking through my mask. We walk the rest of the way in comfortable silence, we finally reached the classroom as we both entered at the same time. I felt cold stares come from all the girls in the class, I ignored them while I walked back to my desk. I sat down then Sasuke sat down next to me, well it's his assigned seat after all...
Then I hear gossip and mumbling go around the classroom, I rolled my eyes focusing my attention back to kurenai Sesnei. "Naruto did I miss anything important?" I whispered to Naruto, "No she just explain, BlAh bLaH." I could hear anything except a loud ringing noise. I tried my best to ignore it as my hearing slowly came back, "Come on, the bell just rang, Asami? Asami?" The second time Naruto called me I turned my head to him.
"Oh ok" I felt a warm lucid running down my ear slowly, I hurried and wiped it without Naruto noticing it. I collected all my stuff, we both walked out the classroom. Naruto kept eyeing my mask, does he think I'm weird now, Naruto looked like he wanted to ask me something but was too embarrassed ask.
"So Asami, why do you wear a mask, I d-didn't mean in a rude w-way it's just" Naruto stutters out before I cut him off. "It's alright" I said smiling at him but he could only see my eyes, he smiled back and sighed. "I wear a mask to hide my identity that's all" I stated simply, "Then can I be the first one to know your identity?" Naruto asks as he turns around probably freaking out and getting mad at himself.
I look up and down the hallway, we were in front of Asuma Sensei's classroom, the hallways were empty, then Naruto turns around probably to apologize. I pull him into the classroom, he just looked surprised but went with it, his back was against the wall. I was standing in front of him not too close but not too far away, I sighed and put my fingers on the edge of the thick cloth covering half of my face.
I see Naruto's eyes fill with curiosity, I carefully touch the cloth moving it down, I pulled it until my nose was out. Naruto wore a surprised expression, well there's no backing out now!
I moved the cloth down more so it was resting under my chin, I just gave Naruto a nice actual smile. Then I look up at him (Naruto's like 2 inches taller), He was just smiling as he inspected my face trying to remember every inch. Then he did the most unexpected thing, he put my mask back on my face, "let's go eat ramen ok?" He said as he grabbed my hand, the wind blew in Naruto's blonde hair, he looked back at me and smiled. The warm feeling was back again as I smiled under my mask, if I wasn't sure before I am now, I like like Naruto more then a Friend.
We continued to run out of the school we ran towards a food smell, I smelled something delicious in the air. We got closer to the smell as it intensified more, we ran through a park. There were kids playing and having fun, Konoha was so warm, I felt a weird feeling in stomach. I let out a real giggle, Naruto just looked back at me smiling as we ran, I smelt his scent as the wind blew past him.
This might sound weird... I breathed his scent in deeply, I felt a feeling I never felt before and it always happens when Naruto was around. Is this a sign or something? The delicious scent of food filled my nostrils as well, I felt my stomach grumble a little. Then we stopped in front of a cozy welcoming shop, the food scent came from inside the shop, I read the sign 'Ichiraku Ramen'. I felt Naruto's gaze on me as I looked back him smiling under my mask as if he could see it.
