I left school early to catch my plane to see Troy, when I got home I was greeted by Loki and I went upstairs to grab my stuff and threw it in the cab. I filled Loki’s water bowl and food bowl and grabbed my phone and I had an Instagram notification. I opened it and it was a picture of me last Monday sleeping with Loki on my side and the ice pack on my face, you could see my face was huge and my stitches we showing. It was from Aunt Ansley and the caption was funny ‘#tbt to when my niece got decked in the face and needed 11 stitches and still manages to look good’ I laughed and like the picture and it already had over 500 likes, damn.
I got into the cab and it drove me to the airport, I texted my parents saying I was leaving, and of course I had my equipment and stick, that took some time to go through security, like always. I texted Mia and Holden and told them I was about to take off. I also texted Troy telling him I just boarded the plane.
The flight was only 4 hours and it was pretty good, I had an older lady sitting next to me and she wasn’t annoying which I was thankful for. I got off the plane and got my luggage and I saw Troy, and Zack talking while waiting for me. “Hey guys” I smiled at them.
“Tornado!” Tory yelled and I had my stick and pretended there was a puck and deked around him and pretended to score.
“You’re such a hockey helmet” Zack said.
I pointed my stick at him “hey only your brother can call me that” I said.
“Yeah I know I thought I’d try” he laughed.
“Well don’t” I laughed “I’m hungry, where is good food here?” I asked.
I looked at Troy and he looked at me “Taco Bell” we said together laughing.
“Taco Bell it is” Troy said.
“When can I skate?” I asked missing it because I haven’t skated since my jaw was hurt.
“How long has it been?” Zack asked
“Two weeks and it’s killing me” I gripped my stick.
“Geeze, for someone who is going to be in the Olympics next year that probably isn’t good” Zack told me.
“I know I’m having withdrawls” I pretended to die as we got in Troy’s Tahoe “please tell me you have practice tonight or tomorrow?”
“I have one tonight but I don’t know if Coach would be ok with that” he said “it starts at 7:15 so we can go at 7 and ask.”
“Yes please I need to skate” we drove through Taco Bell and got a lot of food and ate it on the way to the rink. It was almost 7 when we got there; there were a lot of big guys getting ready.
“Hey Coach this is-” his coach cut him off.
“Tori Brooks, pleasure to meet you” he shook my hand.
“You know me?” I asked smiling.
“You’re one of the only 18 year old girls to be put into the Olympics for hockey; you and Mia are quite the combo. What can I help you with?” he asked.
“Well two weeks ago I got punched in the face and was out and I’m supposed to be at my rink tonight as my first night back but I’m here, can I join you guys?” I asked.
“Of course, you’re a legend, maybe you can teach these guys how to step up their game” he laughed.
I laughed and pointed at Zack “I knew you sucked” I couldn’t stop laughing.
“I hate you” he glared at me.
“Hey Zack didn’t your brother get into the Olympics too?” I asked and laughed again.
