Hockey's Our Game

Chapter 1

"Tori! You're gonna be late to get Mia!" my mom yelled upstairs. I looked at the clock, shit! I have to leave in 5 minutes.

I grabbed a pair of shorts and threw them on and then sweat pants and changed into my sports bra and random t-shirt and my grey Fury warm up jacket. I quickly braided my blonde hair and grabbed an extra hair tie and grabbed my keys. I left my room really quick and ran downstairs, "bye mom! Mia is staying over tonight too. I'll be home around the normal time." I ran out the door "love you!"

"Ok, bye baby, love you too!" my mom yelled and my dad was still at work, he normally doesn't get home until 7:30 and I leave at 4:30. I got into my Escalade and drove down the road to get Mia, we live a street away. I pulled into her driveway and Mia, Jake, and Maci came out. I plugged in my phone to my car and played my music. Mia was in sweats and her Fury jacket also and her brown hair was in a braid too. She threw her gear into my trunk and climbed in shot gun. Jake and Maci got in the backseat. Jake is Mia's little brother, he has brown hair like Mia but he has brown eyes unlike Mia who has green eyes, so do I. Maci has black hair and brown eyes and is super tiny. Her and Jake have been dating for almost a year now, I adore Maci and they're both 15. Only two years younger than me and then three years younger than Mia. "Hello ladies" I said as I drove to practice, it takes two hours on a good day. 

"Um I think I’m a guy" Jake said.

Mia and I laughed "I beg to differ sometimes” Mia said and that caused Maci to laugh.

“You can be a bit hormonal little one” I said “you’re secretly a girl.”

“Screw you guys” he said and we all laughed.

Maci kissed him “I’m sorry” she kissed him again “I love you.”

“Aww” Mia and I said at the same time.

“I can’t stay mad at you and I love you too, as for Tori and Mia, suck my ass.”

“Um, no, that’s Maci’s job” Mia said and I couldn’t stop laughing.

“Oh god” Jake said and he turned as red as a tomato. We always tease them about their relationship; we do it with love though. As far as a relationship with Mia and I, Mia is single and I do have a boyfriend, his name is Anders. He is the star of all the musicals at our school, he’s good. He has brown hair and bright blue eyes and he is a little taller than me and I’m 5’ 8” he is also 18. Mia, Anders and I are in the middle of our senior year too, it’s November and hockey season is just getting good. Anders and I have been going out for almost 2 months now and we’re not all mushy gushy together either, we just like to have fun together.

I pulled into the rink and Mia and I grabbed our stuff and headed to the locker rooms to change. Jake and Maci like to come watch us practice and they come to all our games that are close and that we don’t miss school for. Anders comes to some of them too, but not many he really doesn’t like hockey but I’m ok with that.

“Hey Tori and Mia” Coach Rob said. We walked over to him “since we have a game tomorrow and the other rink is merging tonight with the boys we’re going to play them tonight so please tell the girls.”

“When did you tell us we were merging?” I asked holding my gear still.

He thought for a minute “just now, get going.”

We went to the locker rooms and all the girls were talking “captains” they all said looking at us. This is Mia and my 10th year of hockey on Fury so we are captains this year.

“Ladies we just found out that our rink is merging with another guys AAA team and Coach said we’re playing them for a little warm up to our tourney this weekend” Mia said.
