Hold On by Chord Overstreet

No one knew. Both Deaton and Scott had to protect everyone they loved, especially Kaelin. They pulled out her body from the morgue and brought it to the animal clinic. The sharp wound still showing as the laid her body out on the examination table. Early that week, Scott had filled her coffee cup with something that could bring her back from the dead. Something that was supernatural. Something that changed her fate.

"How does this work?" Scott asked, "Are we just supposed to wait?"

"Scott, you know how I told you everything. You know how I told you about how this is her fate?" Deaton said.

"Yeah, I just didn't realize that it was true. I didn't think that she was going to die." Scott said sadly.

"You saved her life, Scott. She may not accept it, but you saved her life." Deaton sighed.

"Then why hasn't she woken up yet? Her heart isn't even beating!" Scott snapped.

"I'll tell you everything when she wakes up." Deaton said.

"She's like a sister to me. I deserve to know." Scott said.

"And you will know when she wakes up. Now, we have to make a couple of preparations before she comes back." Deaton sighed.

Stiles hid in the shadows. He watched as the oni started attacking his friends. The oni had cornered Isaac and were ready to kill him, but not if Allison had anything to say about it. Allison shot an arrow straight through one of the oni. The oni fell apart, onto the ground. Kaelin saw the oni swinging at Allison. She jumped in front of Allison and Lydia screamed her name. The sword pierced through her. Stiles ran towards her and screamed with all his might. He could've warned her. But, this wasn't real.

Stiles screamed in agony, tears rolling down his cheeks, as he has been reliving her death over and over again. Mr. Stilinski rushed into the room, in hope of helping his son. He grabbed Stiles behind him, and tried to calm him down.

"You're okay. You're okay." Mr. Stilinski assured him, "You're okay." Stiles stopped screaming as his father loosened his grip on his son. "What was it this time? Her laugh? Her smile?"

"H-Her death." Stiles said sadly.

"Oh, kid." Mr. Stilinski said softly, "It's okay."

"It's not okay. She was the only one who could- Who could see through me. She sat me down. She forced me to talk to her! I mean... She didn't care that her family,- She just- she only cared if everyone else was okay... And now she's gone. She died because of me. She died because I let the nogitsune in. If I hadn't of done that, she'd still be alive." Stiles said sadly.

"You know that's not true." Mr. Stilinski said, "She wouldn't want you to think that. Stiles, she died saving her friends. She died saving all of us. But, most importantly she died saving you. She saved you. Right now, she is watching over us, and she knows that we need to grieve. But, she'd want you to be happy."

"She's my best friend, okay? She's my sister. I can't be happy without her." Stiles snapped.

"She's with her family now, son. You know how much she wanted to see her family. Right now, she's happy with them. I heard your friend thing, 'If you're happy, I'm happy.' Just be happy for her." Mr. Stilinski said.

"You know, one time, she rushed over to this house, desperately in need to tell me something. I was confused, I thought that our friendship was over because I stole her book and never gave it back. She walked up to me and said, 'Friendship isn't about who you have known longest. It's about who came and never left your side. That's us Stiles, that's us.' I mean, of course that included Scott.... I won't have one of those. Not ever again. I fucking lost my best friend, my sister, I will never be able to get over that... Even if I try." Stiles said.
