I knocked on the loft door before swinging it wide open. I had heard about what happened to Derek and my Dad. I had to check in with them. I was already filled in on the dead pool thing that Lydia came up with. I was worried for you. She was just now, she was just trying to gain control over her powers. I know for sure that my name hasn't been found on the dead pool yet, but Lydia is working on decoding it.
"Oh my god! Are you guys okay?" I exclaimed worriedly as I rushed into the loft.
"We're okay." Derek assured her.
"Voldemort's brother just tried to kill you with a land mine!" I exclaimed.
"Voldemort's brother?" Derek asked, "Who the hell is Voldemort?"
"He's the villain in Harry Potter!" I said, "This isn't Harry Potter and if it was we'd be winning. And you know why? Because we aren't as dumb as them! Well maybe some of you are. Hermione was the smartest and a muggle, why didn't she bring up guns? The war would've never gone on if they just shot him."
"You just need to calm down, darling." Dad assured me, "We're fine." I looked up at Dad cautiously.
"Sorry, I sometimes make movie or tv show references when I'm nervous." I said, "Are you? There's more hunters out there.
"Kaely, you don't need to worry about us." Derek said softly.
"Yeah, I do. I do have to worry about you." I declared, "Especially since the Mute nearly killed the both of you."
"We're Hales, darling." Dad said, "We're survivors. We can take a knife to the chest, a bullet to the head. We'll just always find a way to survive."
"Well, find another way to survive." Derek snapped.
"Derek, you promised not to talk about this in front of Kaelin." Dad pleaded.
"She deserves to know that you are back to your old ways." Derek snapped. I stood there in shock.
"By old ways? Do you mean..." I asked, tears brimming in my eyes.
"You really couldn't keep your mouth shut for once?" Dad snapped at Derek.
"Maybe I should just go." I said.
"No." Dad snapped, "You came to talk, so let's talk. Tell me how disappointed in me you are." I looked down to the ground. "Come on, Kaelin. You can tell me. I'm already known to be such a dishonor to this family."
"Dad-" I started, but Derek cut him off.
"You don't have to say anything to him, Kaely." Derek snapped, "He already knows the answer."
"Why? Don't you enjoy hearing people insult me?" Dad retorted.
"Dad, I'm not going to say something that I don't believe." I said softly. Dad and Derek looked at me in shock. "Look, I know that it takes me a while to forgive. That's mainly because I'm scared of being betrayed again. But, Dad, I also believe in the good in people. I know that deep down, there is some spark of good in you. I may not agree with your tactics and I know for sure that Mom didn't, but I know that what you did to Kate was to protect us. You killed the Mute to protect Derek."
"All I do, everything that I do is for this family." Dad said.
"Dad, we don't want you to kill people for us." I said.
"Obviously." Derek added. My phone buzzed and I picked it up.
//Meet us at the station A.S.A.P.\\- Stiles
"I would love to talk, but Stiles just texted me, and it looks like he needs me at the station." I said.
"Be careful, Kaely." Derek said.
