Kaelin was with Lydia and Allison on their promised girl's night. They went to the movies, and had got back onto the road, and began driving home when they saw Stiles and Scott in the other car beside them. Kaelin could hear Stiles trying to convince Scott to open the window so he could talk to Allison.
"Oh my god!" Allison gasped, as she saw the two of them fighting each other beside them, shaking her head at the predicament she had gotten herself into.
"Hey!" Stiles yelled as he opened the window and Lydia ran the red light, not allowing her best friend to converse with her ex. Lydia continued driving the car before she slammed into a deer causing the girls to scream in shock.
"Are you okay?" Scott yelled.
"It came out of nowhere," Lydia told him. Stiles and Scott had rushed to check in on the girls after they had just heard them scream.
"Are you hurt?" Stiles asked them worriedly, pointedly towards Lydia.
"We're fine," Kaelin rolled her eyes at this.
"It ran right into us," Lydia explained worriedly.
"Are you okay?" Scott asked Allison.
"I'm okay," Allison said.
"Well, I'm not okay. I am totally freaking out. How the hell does it just run into us?" Lydia yelled, Scott, walked over to the deer, standing near Kaelin who stared at it in wonder.
"I saw its eyes right before it hit us. It was like it was crazy." Lydia said worriedly, shaking her head.
Scott glanced over to Kaelin, wondering what she had to say, "It doesn't make any sense." She shook her head, staring at the dead deer.

Kaelin hadn't talked to Derek or her father in a while. She was still getting used to the idea that her father was still alive. She didn't understand how quickly he was able to change, but she was willing to give him a chance as long as he didn't threaten any of her friends.
She struggled to forgive Derek after what he had done to her, turning her without her consent. She never wanted to be a werewolf, but she could've understood if he had given her a logical reason for it.
"So I was thinking of asking Derek for help with my tattoo," Scott said, breaking the silence between the three of them.
"You got a tattoo?" Kaelin asked, shocked.
"It just healed." Scott shrugged.
"You want to ask Derek for your help? Why?" Stiles asked as we walked into the school.
"He's got the triskele tattooed to his back. So there has to be a way to do it without healing." Scott explained.
"Okay yeah." Stiles agreed, "But, don't you think he has his hands a little full?"
"What?" Kaelin asked, confused, having no idea what had been going on.
"Right, you didn't hear," Stiles said, before leading her to a yellow poster on the bulletin board. It said MISSING and showed Erica and Boyd's pictures.
"They're missing?" she asked, her voice wavering at the thought.
"Right. You don't know." Scott sighed, "Erica and Boyd left Beacon Hills. But, Derek and I were still worried so we still went looking for Erica and Boyd."
"They left?" Kaelin asked, angrily, "Why doesn't anyone tell me these things?" Her worry for Erica and Boyd disappeared as she realized that they just wanted a separate life from Derek, that was something that she could relate to.
