I'm sending a raven
With blood on its wings
Hoping it reaches you in time
And you know what it means
'Cause out here in the darkness
And out of the light
If you get to me too late
Just know that I tried...
As the first rays of sunshine relict on the calm sea, we reach Kattegat.
The guards were already alarmed which didn't suprise me at all. Of course Lagertha wanted to show what power she was holding. I purposefully chose to come with only one ship so she couldn't see our full power just yet. I hate
As we stop on the docks I make sure to be the first one out with my dog towering beside me and Triska, Aren and Revna right behind me. Their hands all rest on the ends of their swords as we walk into Kattegat.
The warriors look at us with wary as the crowds gather around us. I keep my head high and a strong smirk plastered on my lips as I cover up the agony I'm in. I barely slept during the night and I felt sick as my thoughts were running crazy.
Triska told me to stop worrying but it's not that easy when your whole life could crumble in the next few hours.
We enter the great hall where we are met with warriors positioned and ready to kill.
"Hello Hella, I'm glad you came." she speaks up in all her authority. Beside her are Torvi and her children including her oldest son, Ubbe, Bjorn and Margaret.
The smaller boy, about seven wants to run towards me but Bjorn quickly holds him back. I keep my face stern and try as hard as I can to not crack a smile or run into Ubbes and Torvis arms. They are family to me after all.
I come to stand folding my hands in front of me as the dog comes to sit beside me. Arne steps forward as Hand of the Queen and begins to speak.
"Queen Lagertha I would ask you to address Queen Helena as such." he speaks as polite as he can while the tension rises.
"Oh of course I will... excuse me." she answers flustered as to why we are alarmed. She seems baffled by authority I gathered.
"It's nice to see you all again though it's under... difficult circumstances."
I speak up nodding at the people I would call family looking back as to how much they've helped me make all this better."It wouldn't need to be that difficult if you'd choose the right side." Bjorn throws in glancing at me coldly with the eyes of his mother.
"How is there a right side when it's brothers against brothers?" I ask rethorical smiling at him. Bjorn always despised my quick mind, my questioning tongue but mostly my denial of their old ways.
I understood Ivars rage and will for revenge more than anyone else but deep in my heart there is this longing for peace. If it wasn't for his pride and lust for blood we could go back to my Island where I could make him a King, my King.
But the situation got too complicated and everyone in this room knows that Ivar is a realistic threat to every bit of peace.
"How about we sit and begin to discuss?" Lagertha suggests pointing to the long nearby table.
I nod and as she gestures her guards to leave I do the same leaving only Revna, Aren and Triska in the room. As we walk to the Table I cross ways with Torvi.
