And if I could reach the Northern Lights
Maybe then I'd understand it all
Sometimes I try so hard to fight
When all I want to do is fall
Into the night
Into your arms, surrender

Ivars POV:

We spend the next few days still on the Island. She showed me around and we even visited the other towns. The people adored their Queen and saw her as a sign from the gods. Of me they were more than suspicious though. Perhaps the word of Ivar the Boneless had spread here as well.

The people were generally more wealthy than the people in Kattegat which made me envy her even more. She hadn't been Queen for long and she already did so much for her people. I wondered if she would ever be able to see herself the way I did. Could she even see the good she does?

After the first day of being here I even convinced her to let me wash her. She was embarrassed that she was so weak that she couldn't even do these simple things but I reminded her of what I vowed on our wedding day and took care of her like any husband would. Naked the belly was even more prominent and I almost gave in to her flirting. She seemed to enjoy me struggling. I took care of her knotted hair and tense muscles and she seemed to be more than thankful.

We ate by the cliffs and spend a lot of time in the forest. It was healing to see her smile at me, to see those dimples in her flushed cheeks whenever she did so.

Besides the uncertainty of our future we used every minute we could enjoying each others company.

I asked her to come to Kattegat on our fourth day together. She smashed the dishes on the table as she thought I didn't trust her to be alone. Of course I didn't after the stories I heard but I convinced her otherwise. I couldn't let her here and I also couldn't stay. I needed her home where I knew she'd be safe.

Her nightmares seem to have settled asI was close to her which convinced her to come with me in the end. She desperately needed the rest my presence seems to give her.

We arrived in the middle of the night to our people waiting for us on the docks. Our ship stopped and loud cheers erupted. We only took the dog with us that was laying beside my Queen obediently. As the others were busy taking care of the Island or were simple disbelievers of my wife I refused to take any of them with us.

I grabbed her hand that was mindlessly stroking her belly so the people wouldn't see it directly.

She looked a little distressed as her eyes gleamed up me for reassurance. I pressed a gentle but quick kiss on her temple to calm her a little. Though she seems a lot better She's still very fragile and it breaks my heart whenever I look at her.

We got off the boat and with the dog closely behind us and walked to the great hall. I was starving but I was certain my love only yearned for her bed. So we quickly ate something before walking to the Seers hut to get our answers before I could let her sleep. I couldn't wait till next morning.

As we went into the hut it smelled horrible and I felt Helena tensing beside me. The Seer lay on the floor looking like he was on the brink of death.

He groaned as I looked over to my Wife that was clearly nervous. I guided her to sit on a small chair beside the Seer as she needed to sit more than I did. I pull her hand up to my mouth kissing it as the Seer begins to speak.
