The sky was tinted orange and even though it was midday I prayed to whatever God could hear me that it wasn't because of fire but for the sun.
As I came closer the screams became louder, taking every bit of my consciousness.
Those weren't "my people" more like the people I chose to be mine. I will protect them no matter what. August appeared next to me as I laid my prey to the ground."What do you think you are doing?" He asks in a warning tone, as if he could stop me
"I have to help them!" I yell out throwing my bag from my body.
"No!"
he argued and tried to hold onto my arm. He could stop me with his touch which shocked me. No one in his condition was ever able to really physically touch me.I looked him into his wide eyes that showed me that he was just as shocked as me.
I take my arm out of his grip knowing that this might have been the last time this was going to happen.I take out my dagger and start to run into the camp. Just like I thought the Vikings were coming back to get what was originally ours. I take my bow out as well and start to shoot the infiltrators, which go down one by one. The fire is everywhere just like the dead bodies. It becomes harder to stay far away from the Vikings so I could still shoot them.
I put my bow back to my back and throw the dagger into the chest of a big red headed man. He falls and I run to him to take the dagger back. The slavs weren't half as good as the Vikings which quickly showed. As the fight proceeded mud and blood completely covered me. Luckily I've got used to it over the years.
But as I look around my heart drops as I realise that almost all of us are dead. I grab my Bow as I realise that all my arrows are gone. I start stabbing more people but my dagger is to small in comparison to their weapons. I already had a few wounds which were more like scratches and my body screamed from exhaustion. I no longer heard screaming instead a circle of Vikings built around me. My head was clouded.
I screamed at them in every language that came to my mind hoping that they would understand at least one. More and more were circling me and laughing.
Confusion striked me when suddenly something hard hit my head. My knees finally give in and as my head falls to the mud I see two blonde man standing there with those striking blue eyes that make me shiver again. I feel warm liquid flowing over my head as my lids get heavier.
I smile to myself as I let it all happen, hoping that this freed me from my pain.~~~
Steps.
Whispers.
Fire.
Fire? Is this a dream? I try to slowly lift my head but without success. Wait, to lift my head? Fuck, so I'm still living. And I'm pretty sure I'm not laying at my fireplace.I try to open my eyes but my lids are still heavy. I take all of my energy to my eyes and try to open them. Slowly I can feel the light of the fireplace dancing in my Iris which caused me to slightly wimp.
All I can see is a pair of feet walking over me. He starts to kick my thighs and laugh about his oh so funny behaviour. A kick of energy suddenly rushes through my veins which really made me wanting to teach him a lesson. I could feel my limbs hurt but I pushed it away and with all of my power I kicked after that man.
I hit something even though I wasn't sure what I hit, it sounded like it hurt. Laughs appeared in my immediate surroundings and a pain filled voice spoke in Norse:
