Sophie's POV:

Keefe said we'd be doing something very... human today. I wonder what. I looked down in my blissfully boring and comfortable leggings and tunic. The t-shirt said in English, 'Back the T-Rex Up!' How we found Keefe's quote on it, no idea. But I like it. I got a small buzz from my Imparter. Keefe.

hey foster im ready -K

mk will be coming soon -S

Alrighty. I walked up the elaborate stairs of Havenfield to the Leapmaster.

"Shores of Solace!" the machine complied and I fluttered away in a whirlwind of light.

"Hey, Foster!" Keefe walked out from the porch door, looking as cute as ever in his blue hoodie, grey t-shirt, and jeans. He seemed happier today - dunno why. He even greeted me with a longer-than-usual hug... and kiss!

"Hello to you too, Keefe." He looked really hot. Why do I think so? I don't know. But he just did. Definitely cuter than your usual twenty-one year old guy. And he's mine.

Keefe's POV:

My hands fidgeted-fidgeted-fidgeted in my hoodie pocket. I fumbled, pulling the crystal out. I grabbed Sophie's hand, and we shimmered away, riding the ray of light. When the spots cleared, Sophie gasped.

A mish-mash of light and color spun before our eyes, towering tracks, booths, the smell of cinnamon and fried dough.

"Keefe. You brought me to an amusement park?" She beamed, bouncing on her toes, she was too cute when she did that. I nodded, and barely had time to grab her hand before she yanked me toward the entrance. First, she brought me to a strange booth with a delicious smell wafting into the air.

"Funnel cakes!!!" she squealed. Funnel cakes turned out to be the best freaking combination of cinnamon, sugar, dough, and strawberries. Well, there was that gelato some years ago, close call.

Those were interesting and fun times, with the Black Swan. But they were still both better than mallowmelt. Licking my fingers, we walked toward a strange spinning... thing. When it slowed to a stop, Sophie dragged me into it!

Holding hands, she told me to stand against the wall. I did, after a few seconds, the room began to spin. Slowly at first, then faster, and faster, and faster!

"What is this?!" I yelled, looking at Sophie. SHE WAS LAYING ON THE WALL?! HOW?! She obviously wasn't levitating. She laughed at my face,

"Try it!" shuffling slowly, I slid sideways until I was laying right next to her! On the wall! Without levitating! Pressure was holding us there as the room spun around and around and around. We laughed so hard, my eyes welled up, and the tears hit Sophie in the face!

"Hey!" she giggled, wiping her cheeks. Gradually, the ride slowed down, and the pressure lifted.

Sophie's POV:

We stumbled off of the spinning ride, and as I clutched Keefe's hand, I noticed the classic of all carnival and amusement park games. Bumper cars!

"KEEFE KEEFE KEEFE KEEFE KEEFE!!! BUMPER CARS!!" I bolted to the large arena-style cage. He could barely keep up. Even though we were in our early twenties, I couldn't resist. "Two one-seat carts, please!" I handed some tickets to the guy.

We hopped right in. After the voice telling us the safety procedures finished, I slammed down on the power pedal. "Alriiiight! Wooo-hoooo!" I crashed into Keefe and caused him to jump. "Catch me if you can!" I sped away, giving no mercy.
