'Instinct is something which transcends knowledge. We have, undoubtedly, certain finer fibers that enable us to perceive truths when logical deduction, or any other willful effort of the brain, is futile.'
{Nikola Tesla}

The world never did help a smart girl. Why would it? We scare the shit out of the world. If the world goes after you, Take it as a compliment.
——————————————————— Nicole's POV
Darkness.
That's the first thing she remembered. That's the first thing she knew all to well. That's the first thing she saw as she opened her eyes for what felt like the first time.
When the brunettes eyes opened they immediately snapped every which way taking in every single inch of its surroundings not wanting to miss a beat.
Then she heard. The sounds of wheels clanking and churning, the sounds of metal being scrapped along something. The girl should have been afraid, she should have been petrified, but instead she was curious. Every new thing that reached out to her senses she would grab it by the throat. And that's when the questions began to pop around in her head.
Where am I? Where's my family? What's this place? Why's it so dark? Where's the light? What's that sound? What's happening? Why can't I remember what's happening? Why can't I remember anything? What's my name? Who am I?
The girl tried to stand, but her legs immediately buckled under her. The girls body felt so weak to her. She could feel sore spots and stings all over her body, not sure why though. She placed a hand on her abdomen and when she pulled away her eyes widen. Her hand was drenched in red liquid.
"Nicole?"
My eyes shot open as a fist flew out from my side.
"OW!" My tired eyes focused to find that I accidentally nailed Minho right in the nose.
"Oh my-Minho I'm sorry." I grimaced as he bent over clutching his nose.
"Nicole...why?" He whined. I simply shrugged and pointed at his clutched nose. "You should see a doctor about that."
"Okay, designated doctor this very mean girl punched me in the face when I was doing the humble act of telling her to get up because we're moving."
I rolled my eyes and let out a soft chuckle. "You'll live, though it'll heal faster if you forgive the beautiful, intelligent girl. And also if you give her some of your food."
"Never." Minho pretended to growl while protectively clutching his back pack.
We walked more and more through the scorching heat. At one point we all ran out of water so we knew that we better find civilization quick or our days were severely numbered.
