Y/N's POV
Outside the big glass window, the rain gently tapped on the hard surfaces of the apartment's balcony. Thunder rumbled in the distance, telling us that a storm was coming and nearby.
It was now night, the only source of light being a turned on flashlight pointing up to the ceiling. We had successfully managed to quickly rebarricade the door before any more intruders decided to pass by. Now, we were all sitting in the dark with blankets, pillows, and towels, listening to the relaxing sound of rain and getting ready to hear a story from the 3 new friends we had made.
"I remember waking up and checking my phone to see I had received an emergency notification," Karasu started. "I'm sure you've seen it. It talked about how test subjects of the LMV-19 vaccine had gone berserk. Well, I decided to go to the news channel to confirm this madness and it was there. Then a few minutes later, everyone in this apartment is running out of their rooms. The 3 of us only watched from the balcony at the mess. But we immediately barricaded the door, took a knife for ourselves, and rationed out the amount of food we had. The days went by slower than usual, and sooner or later, we became too scared to do anything. A week passed and the electricity vanished due to the power plants in the city blowing up."
"And Otoya, being the brave idiot he is... decided to go scavenge other rooms next to us to find more supplies and such." Yukimiya sighed. "And in the apartment just to our right, which was apparently Raichi's Dad's, we found many useful weapons."
"You robbers... Give them back," Raichi said, still angry.
"You have no right to call us robbers. I'm sure you're one yourself after all. That gun of yours that you always carry around and have by you... it's definitely not yours, is it?" Karasu smirked.
This pissed Raichi the hell off and Isagi and Aryuu ended up having to hold him back. They better not end up having a relationship like Shidou and Rin... Damn, Raichi is so hot-headed.
Karasu sighed. "How about this? It's a mission impossible task, but if we give you some weapons, will you help us get out of here?"
"Of course," Isagi replied.
"What?! No way, Isagi!" Raichi yelled.
"They saved us. They're our friends, whether you like or not."
Karasu, Otoya, and Yukimiya looked at us with disbelief. I wonder how they feel. They get to finally step out of this house they've been stuck in for weeks.
"Really? Thank you!"
"Why do you want to go outside?" Bachira asked, a cunning smile forming on his face.
"This world won't let you live by hiding," Yukimiya answered. "You have to step out of your comfort zone and challenge your fears to survive. I, like everyone else here, wants to stay alive. I'll do anything to see another day. But, I need someone to help me. Please... help us."
"We'll help you." I stuck out my hand for Yukimiya to shake. With a smile, he took my hand, and shook it.
"We're friends. Let's help each other."
I can't fall asleep.
This is not a surprise at this point. I try tiring myself out and draining my energy during the day, but my mind is too busy thinking about whatever at night. Oh, how I wished someone could take the thoughts away.
I'm staring at the ceiling, a straight face on. Everyone else around me is asleep on the floor, snuggling their blankets, dreaming... I hope you all have a good dream, and get lost in its bliss.
