Y/N's POV

"Guys, calm down!"

"Let's talk this out!"

I try to hold Rin back from landing another hit on Shidou while the others hold Shidou back from doing the same. The two had gotten into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical fight. Shidou had landed a kick to Rin's face, causing the black-haired boy's nose to start bleeding.

"Let go of me! I'm not done!" Rin yells. He's so strong that he needs five people holding him back.

Shidou sticks his tongue out, being held back by six people. "Come on, I would hate to ruin that pretty face!"

"Should we take one of them outside while putting the other in a random room of the house?!" Yukimiya suggests, struggling to hold back Rin.

"Put Shidou in the basement!" Igarashi whisper yells.

Using all of our strength, Yoichi, Yukimiya, Aryuu, Karasu, and I manage to get Rin outside of the house. Reo, Tokimitsu, Chigiri, Kunigami, Kuon, and Barou will take care of Shidou.

"Why'd you all do that for?!" Rin yells, pushing everyone off of him as soon as we're outside.

Yoichi and the others immediately run to stand in front of the door, blocking Rin from going back into the house and engaging with Shidou again.

"Like I would go back in there and punch that pink-haired cockroach freak," Rin sighs, running a hand through his hair. Sure, Rin, as if earlier you were telling everyone how you weren't done with Shidou.

But then he does something that we all don't expect. He books it. Rin heads straight for the iron gate and opens it to let himself outside before closing it and shutting us in.

"RIN!" I yell, running up to the gate and trying to open it.

"Rin, get back in here!!!" Karasu shouts while helping me.

"I'm strong enough to survive on my own you lukewarm idiots. And I'm sick of being around that bug Shidou. I won't make you choose between me or him since I'll make the choice for you." Rin keeps the gate shut for a moment more before letting go and running away into the empty street.

"Don't shout for him, y/n," Karasu warns. "He's stubborn. He won't come back and if anything, your voice will only attract more zombies and won't do him any good." He sighs and takes a step back from the gate, punching the stone wall that surrounds the property.

"I know he's strong enough to survive on his own, but..." Yukimiya puts a hand to his forehead. "That was really impulsive."

"How did this fight even start in the first place? I know that Rin and Shidou have always had tension and maybe the buildup caused them to finally crash out, but..."

"Shidou said something about Rin's brother," Yoichi spoke. I look over at him, waiting for a further explanation instead of leaving it as a vague answer. "It's a sensitive topic for Rin and I can't say more because he's never opened up to any of us about it."

My heart aches a little for him. Is that why Rin is always so emotionless? I step away from the gate and begin to head back inside. We have to tell the others what happened.

"So are we gonna go after him?" Raichi asks, fingers on the bridge of his nose out of frustration.

"Yes, but the sun is setting soon. We have to wait until tomorrow when it's daytime," Yoichi says.

"No, let's just go now," I intervene. "The more we leave Rin alone, the more he's at risk and in danger."
